WIRED is seeking a Creative Producer to join our dynamic and fast-paced creative team. 

The Creative Producer will work within our production team and collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Video, Director of Content Production, Casting, Legal and Production Management on all video productions. This role takes an audience-first approach creating original videos that resonate with our Global YouTube audience.

 

The Creative Producer must possess a thorough understanding of brand goals, identity, storytelling and business objectives. Acting as the key creative point person within the production team, you’ll have an in-depth understanding of the YouTube landscape, the entertainment industry, as well as the news cycle including science, technology and politics. 

 

This role is based in London and reports to the Senior Director of Video, collaborating closely with the brands’ Director of Production, Creative Optimization team and Audience Development team.
 

About the role: 

  • Ideate, direct and produce original videos for WIRED’s YouTube channel.

  • Drive programming strategy for assigned series, focusing on engagement, franchise development and audience growth.

  • Lead creative and production from ideation to delivery for all assigned YouTube videos.

  • Project manage and coordinate with teams such as Production Management, Casting, and Talent to schedule shoots and ensure timely delivery of all their projects.

  • Work closely with Production Management and Associate Creative Producers to schedule shoots, buy props and lead all preparations for smooth productions.

  • Manage pre-production and post-production processes, including, but not limited to, shoot schedules, budgets and creative outlines.

  • Develop new video ideas and pitch them to the Senior Director of Video.

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Video, Programming Operations, Creative Optimization and Audience Development to optimize videos for YouTube.

  • Ultimately responsible for both delivery and performance of all videos assigned.

  • Direct talent to get the shots and lines necessary for the vision of the video.

  • Partner with Editors to shape videos into viral content to be released across YouTube and all other popular social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and WIRED.com.

  • Stay up to date on evolving features, and trends, on social platforms.
     

Who you are: 

  • Significant experience leading productions and having a unique and clearly defined video style.

  • Proven experience creating viral YouTube videos as a skilled and inclusive leader who earns trust and respect across teams and stakeholders.

  • A love for all things Science, News and tech-related and a passion for YouTube videos.

  • A strong understanding of the WIRED brand, the Science, News and Tech media landscape, and what makes for viral content.
