Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Product Definition Analyst to join our Creation Platform - Fast Data team. This platform touches all segments of our business such as reservations, ticketing, departure control, inventory or even airlines proprietary systems. It allows airlines to react in real-time to their operations, creating and running key use cases in a modern and highly serviceable environment. The key focus of this team is on the openness of our Fast Data capabilities – imagine giving a customer full self-serviceability over enhancing their products both at the core and the edge using developer Studios.
The various modules of the platform involve:
- Our real-time data platform, leveraging on Kafka and MongoDB to build a powerful, micro-service based, streaming architecture
- Our Rule Engine module based on drools (along with its Angular JS User Interface) in charge of doing real-time analysis of data streams and triggering operational use cases accordingly
- Our Developer Studios built on top of the real-time data platform and leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies to enable customers to extend and customize our platform capabilities
- All components being cloud ready, making the most of Red Hat Openshift technology
Your role will center on product definition and functional analysis. You will be responsible for analyzing functional requirements, proposing solutions, writing specifications, and coordinating with key stakeholders and cross-site teams (BLR, NCE, IST). In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the vision and offerings of the Developer Studios and contribute to fostering more innovation in the Creation Platform.
You will:
- Carry out business analysis and requirements elicitation:
- Collaborate with Product Managers and relevant stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Consolidate and articulate business needs into new product concepts or upgrades
- Conduct feasibility studies and translate business needs into functional specifications and solutions.
- Lead Functional Design
- Create comprehensive documentation for product specifications, user guides, troubleshooting guides etc.
- Interface with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.
- Define product specifications based on the business requirements and by following common guidelines.
- Work closely with developers and quality analysts and organize internal specification walkthrough.
- Liaise with UX designers to ensure a seamless user experience for product target users
- Contribute to the product vision along with product management teams
- Lead the design of the product APIs to support business processes
- Define the scope of the APIs based on the business requirements and user needs.
- Follow the API design process:
- Ensure APIs follow Domain-Driven Design practices (DDD) and are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry standards
- Design the data models, schemas and interfaces, and protocols for the APIs.
- Standardize of the resources in Stoplight Data Dictionary
- Create an API contract(swagger) using stoplight.
- Present the work accomplished on the API design to the API board.
- Collaborate with the team and other stakeholders to ensure the quality, consistency, and compatibility of the APIs.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate the APIs with existing systems
- Document the API design and the functionality for internal and external consumers.
- Manage relations with key stakeholders
- Interface and communicate with Product Management, Project management, Troika, Amadeus Customer Services, Implementation, Governance boards, Migration and Development teams.
- Interface with internal and external customer during requirements understanding, functional specification, testing and implementation phases.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of product roadmap
- Oversee product development and functional validation
- Closely follow development of designed features
- Ensure traceability of tests with specifications
- Validate the product to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, and give sign off
- Ensure production integrity by investigating, validating and prioritizing reported incidents.
- Participate to team events:
- Participate to the SAFe ceremonies within the team and train: PI Planning, Stand-ups, Refinements, Retrospectives…
You’ll have the following technical skills & experiences:
- At least 5 years of experience as a product definition analyst
- Experience with API design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all stakeholders (functional and technical teams)
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills
- Strong customer focus
- Creative and proactive approach
- Ability to understand technical and complex products
- A professional who can solve difficult problems, manage and collaborate with teams effectively
