Job Description

Turner & Townsend is a leading management consultancy provider in the Commercial Developer sector. Leveraging extensive skills, processes, and industry knowledge, we deliver market-leading services to our clients. Our broad experience and comprehensive data resources enable us to provide proactive, value-added solutions across all aspects of the sector, including projects involving hotels, residential developments, and commercial office schemes.

Our projects range from complex small-scale initiatives to major new-build developments, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities. This diversity provides team members with the chance to develop their knowledge, experience, and professional skills.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of feasibility studies and procurement reports.
  • Prepare cost estimates and cost plans, including presentation of final cost plans.
  • Manage tendering activities, including pre-qualification processes, tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage post-contract cost variations and change control processes.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout all project stages.
  • Lead cost management teams, promoting accountability and high performance.
  • Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and support business growth.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost management procedures, templates, and service offerings.
  • Ensure key project information and lessons learned are captured within internal knowledge management systems.
  • Monitor financial performance using FMS.
  • Identify and escalate opportunities for process improvement.
  • Review commission management quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying 
  • MRICS qualified or working towards
  • UK Cost Management experience within the Real Estate/Property sector  
  • Experience working on larger projects 
  • Experience working on new build and fit-out projects 
  • Excellent communication skills and client facing.
