Based in Birmingham, Worcester, and Droitwich, Ballards is a progressive firm of chartered accountants helping businesses and private clients achieve stronger financial performance through integrated tax, audit, and consultancy expertise.
Due to continued growth in our Corporate Finance team and an expanding pipeline of transactions, we are looking for a Corporate Finance Executive to join the firm.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of lower mid-market transactions, supporting both buy-side and sell-side engagements. You will combine financial due diligence with hands-on involvement in M&A processes, working closely with senior members of the team and directly with clients.
About the Role
You will play an important role in analysing financial information, supporting transaction workstreams and helping to deliver clear, commercially focused insights to clients.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment and wants to develop their experience across a variety of corporate finance projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions from initial analysis through to completion
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis, including valuations, financial modelling and preparation of deal materials
- Assisting with financial due diligence engagements, including quality of earnings, working capital, net debt and cash flow analysis
- Engaging with target management teams to gather information, challenge assumptions and validate financial data
- Preparing clear and commercially focused reports, presentations and client deliverables
- Supporting senior team members on transactions and contributing to successful deal execution
- Building strong relationships with clients and contributing to business development opportunities
About You
- Strong analytical skills with good commercial awareness, able to operate effectively in a fast-paced transaction environment
- Comfortable working with financial data, clearly communicating insights and collaborating with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Strong financial analysis and financial modelling skills with a solid understanding of accounting and transaction mechanics
- Experience in financial due diligence, transaction services or corporate finance advisory
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deal-driven environment
- Confidence communicating findings and insights to senior stakeholders and clients
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to take ownership of deliverables
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support both clients and colleagues
- A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CFA (part-qualified may be considered)
