The Core Network Engineer is responsible for mobile core network support, performance analysis, system testing, and documentation, requiring strong protocol knowledge and operational skills.
As part of Webbing Core Network Team, you will be responsible for Mobile Core network support, functionality and development at the cutting edge of technologies. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate technical and organizational ability, working in a small team under Webbing Network Engineering Department
- Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
- Perform proactive monitoring of network elements’ KPI/ alarms and network performance analysis
- Perform service/system testing, data collection, and optimization as required
- Handle and analyze trouble tickets and provide solutions when necessary
- Create and maintain network system documentation
- Operational task and requests handling
- Participate in knowledge transfer to NOC engineers
- Provide on-call 24 x 7 support on a rotating basis
- Complete familiarity with MNO/MVNO structure and flows, for Voice, SMS and Data scenarios
- Experience in analyzing network flows using raw data (traces/PCAP/etc.)
- Deep understanding of various protocols: MAP, Diameter, GTP, SIP, RTP, SMPP
- Deep understanding of 3G, 4G and VoLTE networks
- Ability to design, scale and integrate a network element into a live network
- Hands-on experience in integration between network elements (SCTP, SIP trunk, SMPP connection)
- Roaming and SPR solutions understanding
- Understanding of 3GPP standards and GSMA guidelines and knowing to analyze based on it
- At least 5 years of practical experience as a core engineer
- Willingness to occasional travel is required.
- Knowledge of IP switching and routing protocol - an advantage
- Knowledge of Linux system administration and cloud technologies (AWS, VMware) - an advantage
- Familiarity with scripting specifications and profiling automated tools - an advantage
