Role: Copy Lead

About the role:
As a Copy Lead, you will be a driving creative force for the brands you work on - with a hands on approach that sets standards for the team and the account, as well as providing leadership across creative work.
With a background in copy, and alongside the Design Lead, you will act as the creative point of sign-off and quality control for all projects, ensuring excellence in concepts, craft and copy (plus an eye for good design helps).
To re-iterate this role not only involves overseeing projects but also requires active participation in them. You will need to become fluent in the brand’s tone of voice and set a consistent level of excellence that the team can follow.
You will report directly to a senior creative leader (such as a Creative Director or Group Creative Director) within the Oliver network. In this capacity, you will provide regular updates on the creative health of the account, ensuring alignment and clarity across all initiatives.
What you will be doing:
- Creative Oversight and Leadership: Lead creative strategy, ensuring quality, consistency, and brand alignment, with final sign-off authority on all materials.
- Project Management: Guide projects from concept to completion and manage multiple concurrent projects, including ad-hoc creative opportunities such as pitches.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with strategists, designers, project managers, account leadership, and clients; maintain excellent communication and provide creative status reports to your direct creative leader.
- Innovation and GenAI Tools: Incorporate GenAI tools in everyday tasks, achieving AI Gold Status for your core craft skill from the Oliver Tech Academy within six months.
- Quality Control and Problem Solving: Ensure high-quality output, from project inception through production and deployment, maintaining excellence in your core skill set.
- Team Development: Mentor junior team members, offering feedback to foster skill development; inspire the team through regular creative meetings.
- Creative Strategy and Content Planning: Develop high-level strategic content plans for campaigns and ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Client Engagement and Workshops: Lead workshops with clients on copywriting and creative, and challenge briefs to elevate project outcomes.
What you need to be great in this role:
- Proven experience in managing creative team outputs and leadership.
- Strong sense of team, collaboration, and leading by example.
- Robust organisational skills and a strong eye for quality control.
- Portfolio showcasing creativity and innovation across diverse brands.
- Competency and interest in GenAI tools and new digital technologies.
- Ability to present and communicate effectively with teams and clients.
- Proactive and self-motivated with effective problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Stay current with cultural and industry trends to inform creative work.
