Senior Director of MEP

Position Overview: As the Senior Director of MEP at Vantage Data Centers, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the design, coordination, and implementation of MEP systems for our global portfolio of data centers. This senior-level position requires a hands-on leader with a strategic vision and deep technical expertise in MEP systems, driving projects to completion on time, within budget, and in line with the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure MEP systems align with the company’s goals of sustainability, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the MEP coordination process from pre-construction through commissioning, ensuring alignment with design requirements, operational fundamentals, and quality standards.
  • Lead engineering teams and contractors in the execution of MEP systems, conducting design reviews, shop drawings, and submittal evaluations.
  • Drive resolution of conflicts and challenges between mechanical and electrical systems to ensure project timelines, budgets, and logistics are maintained.
  • Manage major equipment approvals, ensuring alignment with program requirements and design specifications.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Automation) and external contractors to ensure seamless MEP system integration.
  • Provide leadership in project walkthroughs, quality control, change order evaluations, and the turnover process including start-up, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of MEP processes, documenting lessons learned and implementing best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in MEP construction, with a strong preference for experience in data centers or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to manage complex projects across multiple markets.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and manage high-performing teams.
  • Experience with MEP coordination software such as BIM 360, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or Revit is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
