Job Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Controllership team as a Regional Controller supporting both EMEA and APAC. This role will be based in London and report directly into the Global Controller (based in the US).

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in our London office.
The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting for all the regional legal entities in both US GAAP and Local Statutory GAAP across the EMEA and APAC regions. In addition, the role will also oversee regional payroll processing as well as overseeing 3rd party accounting service providers. This role will work closely with Business Finance, FPA, HR, Tax, Legal and other peers within the Controllership function to support the monthly closing process as well as provide strategic insights to support finance decision-making at the regional and product level. As a growing company, this role will also support continuous improvement initiatives as well as acquisition due diligence and integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an accounting team for all general ledger accounting activities, month-end close, complex technical and in-country accounting issues, internal controls and assist with any financial reporting preparation. Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Oversee the payroll function to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and compliance, liaise with key stakeholders in HR to improve data flow processes, review and approve payrolls.

  • Partner with FPA and Treasury to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting as well as ensure cash needs are properly forecasted and funded.

  • Partner with Tax to ensure local provisions and compliance are supported, accurate and timely.

  • Partner with other EMEA and APAC leaders in the business from Sales, Inside Sales, Product, Client Services to remain up to date with business activities and provide Finance support for initiatives across the regions

  • Responsible for regional financial reporting and accounting which includes the accuracy of the various legal entities’ general ledgers and its compliance with GAAP and local accounting regulations.

  • Work closely with External auditors and Financial Reporting team to ensure audits are completed timely and statutory financial statements are accurate and in accordance with local requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, contracts and regulation including statutory rules.

  • Review, analyze, and approve expenses for procurement/budget for the applicable international locations.

  • Set team direction, resolve problems, and provide guidance to members of the regional Finance & Accounting team.

  • Instill a rigorous control and compliance framework within EMEA and APAC Accounting function.

  • A leadership position supporting growth and development of a local accounting team including performance reviews, development planning, training and succession planning.

  • Provide operational and technical accounting expertise for the international organization to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Statutory requirements and Company policies, rules, regulation and laws.

  • Help lead various strategic initiatives including acquisition’s integration/support and process improvement.

Minimum Education, Skills And Experience

  • 7-10 + years’ experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).

  • Progressive accounting experience (International/ Multi entity experience)

  • 3-5+ years of supervisory experience with a global footprint

  • Financial Reporting experience including GAAP, IFRS, Statutory

  • Experience working with auditors on statutory audits

  • Demonstrated experience with transfer pricing, intercompany agreements. and allocations

  • Strong project management experience, including the ability to coordinate and enable new initiatives or processes and be the voice of EMEA and APAC Accounting across the business

  • Experience managing a payroll function across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and retain top financial talent and ability to build high performing teams

  • Thrives and is comfortable with autonomy and accountability

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Workday ERP or similar Cloud based ERPs

  • Experience with Cloudpay or similar other payroll platforms a +

  • Proficient level of competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
