The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The Controller Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data and processes within the organization. While transactional accounting work is handled by our shared service center, the local accountant is responsible for overseeing these processes, analyzing financial information, and providing insights and support to different departments and stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Financial Accounting, Analysis and reporting: analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to different departments, shared service center in India and management. Prepare and compile internal and governmental statistical reports in accordance with established guidelines and deadlines. Handle the accounting Non-PO Country invoices, Pensions, Insurances and other general ledger entries.
Financial Compliance and Auditing: Assist with internal and coordinate external audits, including preparing of statutory annual reports, providing documentation, and addressing audit findings. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal and external standards (US-GAAP, statutory GAAP and internal regulations). Perform Balance sheet reviews and Month End Close activities. Perform DCF calculations and create impairment schedules.
Payroll Accounting: analyze payroll accounts and cooperate with global shared service center to ensure financial data compliance. Support the reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolution of any discrepancies in a timely manner and communication with public administration.
Tax Compliance: Support in the preparation of tax returns, compliance with tax laws and regulations as required, and provide support during tax audits.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with statutory accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify financial risks in the matrix organization and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing internal controls and risk management procedures. Collaborate with the shared service center and other stakeholders to implement changes and streamline processes
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
Experience in statutory audits and converting US Gaap to local UK Gaap (FRS102)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent in English

Well-organized with ability to prioritize
Work location: Remote
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international, to attend local hub and finance meetings, in line with business needs.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
