Roles and Responsibilities
- Project engineering: Actively participate in the execution of control system projects by performing database configurations, network setups, firewall, and cyber security configurations, and supporting validation activities to ensure successful technical delivery.
- Customer and Project Management: Ensure engineering tasks are completed to a high standard of quality in alignment with project time scales, providing regular progress updates to technical leads and project management.
- Design and Documentation: Analyse technical specifications to identify appropriate solutions for building system databases, understand designed systems, and recommend changes as required.
- Technical Oversight: Perform hands-on control system engineering tasks including system upgrades and modifications. Ensure strict adherence to all GE Corporate and local policies, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards, maintain a strong safety mindset, and ensure Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are produced and approved. Continuously expand technical knowledge of new products and systems.
- Issue Resolution: Assist the technical leader in resolving technical issues, seek resolutions for hardware, software, performance, and network communication problems, and coordinate with Centers of Excellence (CoE) and other teams for product and system-related issues.
- Testing and Commissioning: Conduct Validation, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Training and Support: Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, repair, and maintenance at customer sites. Assist with internal and external training activities, and support engineering, sales, and commercial/tendering teams with return on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: BSc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Over five years of control system-related experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SCADA communication protocols, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and database applications.
- Design Expertise: Proficient in designing and programming electrical control systems, including SCADA/HMI, cybersecurity, network equipment, IEC61850, Firewalls, and more.
- GE Vernova Substation Automation Solutions: Preferred candidates will have proven knowledge in this area.
- Travel: Ability to travel locally and globally, with a valid driver’s license.
