THE AGENCY

Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is the world’s leading full-service entertainment, media, and sports agency. We represent many of the most successful professionals working in publishing, television, film, music, theatre, video games, sports, and digital content. We also provide a range of strategic and marketing consulting services to corporate clients.

OVERVIEW

CAA has expanded its publishing operations in London. A fast-paced and growing department selling publication and media rights across all languages, territories, and formats to establish and develop literary careers worldwide; we work with internationally acclaimed and bestselling authors across fiction and non-fiction.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Contracts Manager to join our growing team in the Publishing Business Affairs department across the UK and Translation businesses. The role would suit someone commercially minded, highly organised and detail oriented. The Contracts Manager plays a vital role in keeping the business running smoothly.

Although not an exhaustive list, the role will include the following:

  • Drafting and negotiating publishing agreements, translation agreements, reader agreements, first serial agreements, introduction agreements, and collaboration agreements

  • Boilerplate negotiations

  • Producing contract summaries

  • Assisting agents with negotiations

  • Tracking contract status and maintaining accurate files

  • Assisting with special projects, research, and compiling information as needed

  • General Business Affairs support, including administrative support

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have solid relevant experience within the book publishing industry

  • Excellent organisational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to deal with high volume of work

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Team player
