OVERVIEW
CAA has expanded its publishing operations in London. A fast-paced and growing department selling publication and media rights across all languages, territories, and formats to establish and develop literary careers worldwide; we work with internationally acclaimed and bestselling authors across fiction and non-fiction.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Senior Contracts Manager to join our growing team in the publishing Business Affairs department across the UK and translation businesses. The role would suit someone commercially minded, highly organised and detail-orientated. The Senior Contracts Manager plays a vital role in keeping the business running smoothly.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Drafting, editing, proofreading, summarising, and negotiating/redlining publishing agreements, reader agreements, first serial agreements, introduction agreements, collaboration agreements, translation agreements and correspondence.
Checking and editing offer letters
Assisting Publishing and Translation Agents during negotiations
Tracking contracts and project status and maintaining accurate files
Assisting with special projects, research, and compiling information as needed
Scope to learn from an experienced Business Affairs team across all areas of media and entertainment
General Business Affairs support, including administrative support
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Must have 5+ years of contracts experience within the book publishing industry.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Professional manner with a positive “can do” attitude.
Ability to prioritise and multitask with a busy workload.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Confidential and discrete approach, and strong work ethic.
