Java Engineer (Contract)

Responsibilities:

As an Engineer at Ebury, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions by performing the following tasks:

  • Configure organisational and form-level properties to accomplish specific application goals.
  • Develop unit and integration tests employing common frameworks for Java programming to guarantee code quality.
  • Debug applications effectively using log files and the debugging tools available in most Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
  • Establish a source control process to manage application assets efficiently.
  • Generate and modify JSON and XML data files using standard Java objects to meet application requirements.
  • Architect services with a focus on increasing reusability and minimizing maintenance efforts.
  • Collaborate with form developers to identify integration points for applications.
  • Deploy and configure Avoka Exchange components in a production environment.
  • Read and create comprehensive JavaDocs to enhance project documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

  • Proven experience in Object-Oriented analysis, development, and design, using Java and/or Groovy.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, to facilitate efficient coding practices.
  • Experience with continuous integration as a fundamental component of the development lifecycle.
  • A track record of unit and integration testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Hands-on experience in creating services for the Java platform.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies to contribute effectively within a
    dynamic team.
  • Knowledge of server-side debugging and optimisation techniques to enhance application performance.
  • A strong grasp of HTML5 and CSS, enabling seamless interaction with front-end development.
