Agency and Role Summary
As a Content Strategist, you will sit within the growing Organic Performance department in the Content team. As part of our digital performance offering, your role will be to deliver and manage performance-driven content marketing strategies (covering Search Engine Optimisation and User Experience) for a variety of high-profile UK clients.
Specialising in content, you will work closely with the Organic Performance client teams, being a day-to-day contact for all content activity, including strategic direction, insights, on-site content creation and other elements of on-site marketing to drive performance and achieve business objectives. You will be reporting into the Senior Content Strategist and supporting the Senior Content Strategist and Content Director to shape OMD UK’s approach to digital content (across SEO, brand content and UX)
You will be a key support to the Senior Content Strategist and Content Director You will be provided with all the support required to perform your role; this ranges from proprietary tools to a wider team with expertise in all-round SEO, content and paid digital channels.

You will be working across the entire OP client range, with a particular focus on Barclays, British Gas, Mercedes-Benz and Clarks.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for a number (through to all) content tasks on your client accounts and have the confidence and knowledge to take broad objectives and translate into content tasks.
Use a data-led approach to provide evidence-based content strategies to meet client objectives. Work closely with Organic Performance client teams in the delivery of data-led SEO strategic pieces such as competitor content analysis, audits and creation.
With the help of the Senior Content Strategist and leadership within the Organic Performance team, become a key point of contact for all things content across your client accounts to build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
Ensure that our high-quality, industry-leading standards are met across end-to-end content strategy, creation and delivery for clients under your remit.
Be responsible for the creation of content briefs and contribute to the execution of SEO-led content strategy across all OP clients.
Support with copy editing and review throughout the content creation process, collaborating with external stakeholders, copywriters and clients to ensure that quality standards and vision objectives are met.
Identify audiences for clients and use this data to enhance content recommendations that resonates.
Support senior members of the team to develop and advocate for new approaches to content across all disciplines and contribute to knowledge sharing projects for the wider OP team, clients and stakeholders.
Regularly identify content ‘best practices’ and share widely to increase overall innovation, creativity, and effectiveness within Organic Performance and the wider business.
Key Skills and technical skills
Some experience and interest in full end-to-end content strategy creation and execution. Knowledge of the role content plays in driving performance across channels.
A good understanding of SEO and its role in content strategy and on-site content performance.
Ability to identify content opportunities and develop evidence-based strategies to meet client objectives.
Strong copywriting and editorial skills are highly desirable
Confident, comfortable and professional when communicating with key client stakeholders, internal/agency stakeholders and third parties
Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and clients
Ability to report on content performance (ROI analysis / post campaign analysis) of all Campaigns and understand what key metrics and KPIs measure content success.
Proactive in seeking new, innovative, workable ideas to enhance content strategies.
An interest and understanding of organic social and influencer marketing is a bonus
Experience with SEO and content marketing tools is a bonus
Culture of the team
The Content Team is a team of 3 that sits alongside the Organic Performance (OP) Department. The OP team is comprised of 26 members ranging across a breadth of different skill sets all within SEO, owned and earned. We are a tight-knit bunch who are all about knowledge-sharing and upskilling each other.
We have two-hours weekly protected Grow Time dedicated to career development and upskilling. Weekly team All-Hands where we share industry news, knowledge, current work and get a good chance to nerd out over all things Content, SEO and digital. We also periodically attend industry events and conferences as a team.
OMD UK regularly delivers industry-leading training programs (SPINE), monthly agency-wide all-in days and a wide variety of social events and groups open to all.
We’re a social bunch, so can always be found having lunch together in the office canteen and have set in-office days to maximise team collaboration.
