Role expectations and responsibilities

As a Content and Social Media Executive, you’ll form a crucial part of our Marketing team helping execute key campaigns across the sporting calendar. Social Media and sport never stands still for long with content, trends and algorithms changing day-by-day, so you will need to adapt and react across channels to help us grab those ‘in-the-moment’ opportunities.

We pride ourselves on our owned content, so you will need to be comfortable editing audio and video content alongside having a keen eye for detail to ensure we’re publishing the best possible output in an on-brand manner. 

As well as this you will collaborate with Marketing, Product and Data teams to marry up future opportunities, to ensure that we are ahead of the curve, and assist the wider team for bigger-picture planning, while also thinking ahead to pre-empt social moments.

Areas of Responsibility

You will be joining our Marketing team, working alongside the Campaigns Manager to edit and execute on-brand content. You will be responsible for social content across all Smarkets and SBK platforms. Looking for inspiration in popular topics for content and concepts, while also providing suggestions on how we can provide an SBK/Smarkets spin as they gain momentum. You will be scheduling content in advance on all channels, including Instagram, Youtube, X and Reddit.
You will also have the opportunity to attend events on behalf of SBK/Smarkets and report on real-time events through our tone of voice.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a content or social media-oriented role with expert knowledge of key social platforms (Meta, X, Reddit etc)
  • A track record of creating viral moments, either personally or professionally
  • Comfortable editing audio and video using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience using design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Figma is preferred
  • A sports fanatic who’s also across the latest news and current affairs
  • An outside of the box thinker with a keen eye for detail
