Role: Content Marketing Manager (12-month FTC – Maternity Cover)

Function: B2B Marketing | Content Strategy

Responsibility: Own the content that turns attention into leads for The Soar Group, across lead magnets, paid ads, the newsletter, case studies and our organic business channels

Reports to: Head of Marketing

Location: Hybrid/flexible, with the option to work from our Leeds office, from home, or a mix of both

Compensation: £32,000 – £35,000 DOE

Founded by Olly Hudson and Joe Marston in 2019, Soar With Us is one of the fastest-growing advertising agencies for e-commerce brands in the UK. In the last 12 months, we've generated over £250m revenue for our clients, including TRIP, Cowshed, Heights, IM8, 47 Skin, Nutrition Geeks and many more.

Our marketing function has grown quickly, and this role is a step up from our Marketing Executive position. You'll be the strategic driver and executor of the "hero" pieces of content that hold our wider content output together, distributed across lead magnets, paid ads, the newsletter, case studies and our organic channels. This is a content-focused role rather than a people-management one — you won't be managing a team, but you will work closely with our Head of Marketing, and lean on the wider marketing function, to keep everything pulling in the same direction.

Reporting to our Head of Marketing, you'll be responsible for creating lead magnets and video content that grow our sales pipeline and newsletter list, producing ads for both the agency and the newsletter, turning our client results into case studies people actually want to read, and keeping our business socials consistently active.

This is a role for someone who loves making content and cares just as much about what it achieves. You'll track the leads your work generates and use that data to decide what to make next.

What you'll do:

Lead generation content

  • Lead the ideation and execution of lead magnets and help plan video content built to be used across our full marketing ecosystem.
  • Work with the wider team to pull out the expertise, frameworks and results that make our lead magnets genuinely useful to e-commerce founders and marketers.

Promotional strategy

  • Build a clear promotional plan for every piece of lead generation content you create.
  • Brief and create promotional material (copy, hooks, clips, graphics and briefs) so campaigns run with synergy.

Agency lead generation ads

  • Ideate and create video and static content to run as paid ads for the agency, generating warm leads for sales.
  • Work with our in-house creative teams to brief, test concepts, learn from performance and iterate for the next batch of ad content.

Newsletter ads

  • Ideate and create static and video ads that drive subscriber growth for the newsletter over the next 12 months.
  • Keep a steady pipeline of fresh creative so the channel keeps scaling as ads fatigue.

Case studies and testimonials

  • Organise case study and testimonial content with account teams and clients, from gathering results to helping capture quotes and video.
  • Upload finished case studies to the website and build a promotional plan for each one once it's live.

Organic social management

  • Keep our business social channels running with a regular stream of content every month, covering our team, our client results and the work we produce.
  • Plan content in advance so our channels don't go quiet.

Lead reporting

  • Track the leads generated by your own content and campaigns.
  • Report on performance to the Head of Marketing, sharing what's working, what isn't and what you'll change as a result.

Marketing calendar ownership

  • Take strategic ownership of sections of our marketing calendar, ensuring all content has a purpose and speaks in harmony with everything else going out.

General

  • Stay up to date with e-commerce best practice and strategy across paid ads, creative, CRO, landing pages and Shopify, so your content stays credible with an expert audience.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively via Slack and Google Meet.
  • Support the wider marketing team with written and multimedia content where needed, including blogs, website copy and newsletter content.

Requirements

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in content marketing, ideally in an agency, B2B or e-commerce environment.
  • A portfolio showing both written and video content, including work designed to generate leads.
  • Clear examples of content strategy you've executed, with evidence of the impact it had on the business — not just the output itself.
  • Experience in B2B lead generation and content designed to drive top-of-funnel reach — getting more of the right eyeballs on a business.
  • Ideally, some experience creating or briefing ad content for a B2B audience, alongside larger, "hero" content pieces.
  • Experience creating or briefing paid social creative (static and video).
  • Comfort with basic lead tracking and reporting, and happiness to be judged on the numbers.
  • Excellent written communication, with the ability to adapt your tone for different audiences and formats.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate content with busy colleagues and clients.
  • Confidence using a CMS (Webflow a bonus) and scheduling tools.
  • Basic video editing and design skills are a strong advantage.
  • A genuine interest in marketing and e-commerce.
  • Full ownership of your successes and failures, with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • A proactive approach — you don't wait to be told what to do next — with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A focus on results, not just output, with the ability to self-manage and prioritise efficiently.

Benefits
  • 25 days holiday plus public holidays, an extra paid day off on your birthday, and an additional day per year after 2 years' service (up to 30 days)
  • Private health insurance (Vitality) and 50% off gym memberships
  • Life insurance including unlimited 24/7 GP access
  • Cash plan claim back dental, eye care, physiotherapy and counselling costs
  • Company pension
  • Hybrid working, plus the option to work abroad for up to 30 days at a time
  • Professional development support
  • Regular team socials and a peer-to-peer kudos/rewards system
