The role
Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times newspaper and its group publications. Our mission is to bring our global executive audiences the very latest in knowledge and opinion, and connect them to one another.
Alongside FT Live is FT Specialist, the B2B information division of the FT. Comprising 17 brands it provides unique audience groups with information that helps them make better decisions and operate more effectively.  Amongst the industry leading brands with huge scope for growth and development: The Banker, Investors Chronicle, FT Locations, FT Adviser, Ignites, MandateWire, Professional Wealth Management and much more.

We are currently recruiting a Content Editor for a full-time position. The Content Editor will work across a selection of our core and partner events and will be tasked with researching and writing high-quality event agendas, sourcing specialist speakers and handling the event production process from start to finish. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and help shape a growing portfolio of events. 

Key responsibilities

  • Research, write and produce innovative, high-quality event programmes (digital, hybrid and in-person).

  • Research, invite and confirm credible speakers for your events.

  • Liaise with the FT Specialist and FT journalists chairing and/or moderating at our events.

  • Work closely with the sponsorship team to ensure fulfilment of content delivery requirements.

  • Collaborate with the marketing department to create original copy for email campaigns, newspaper ads, social media and marketing brochures.

  • Support on any additional content, including social media campaigns and output

  • Act as speaker liaison and run the event on the day

  • Assist with any other post-event content, including thank you emails to speakers, event summaries, etc.


Required skills and experience

  • An inquisitive and astute graduate looking to start a career in B2B event content production

  • A 2:1 degree, preferably research based, or equivalent experience

  • Excellent research and copywriting skills 

  • Ambitious individual who can innovate, generate new insights and think outside of the box 

  • Highly organised, strong time management skills and the ability to multitask 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a confidence in handling multiple partner relationships including with senior editorial colleagues and high value clients

  • Be able to work within a large, dynamic international business

  • A motivated, self-starter who enjoys working both independently and as a team-player
