Reporting to the Senior Consumer Communications Manager, Product, your work will support our ambition to make The National Lottery relevant and exciting for modern Britain, with a focus on National Lottery products and good cause storytelling. From Lotto to EuroMillions, Scratchcards to Set For Life, your work will make each of our games famous, distinctive and understood. You will also support in driving ‘Win belief’, encouraging the great British public to believe it could be them. Your work will demonstrate creativity and an understanding of what makes a good story that cuts through with consumers and brings back the magic of The National Lottery. We will support you to develop media and influencer relationships, and craft, pitch and land creative stories about The National Lottery’s ability to change lives every day.

Responsibilities -

  • Support the delivery of creative PR campaigns and stories that put National Lottery products front and centre for consumers
  • Collaborate with the Product and Brand teams to create integrated plans to support the National Lottery’s family of games
  • Support the launch of new games and product innovations, to champion the entertainment value and insert the National Lottery into cultural conversations
  • Support sell-ins, monitoring results and suggesting adjustments to approach
  • Support in managing media opportunities focused – including briefs, preparing the spokespeople and press releases
  • Grow and maintain relationships with relevant consumer and entertainment media and journalists; helping to maximise positive and balanced news coverage about our products
  • Stay in-the-know on relevant social influencers; and where relevant, work with stakeholders to include culturally relevant influencers in the delivery of product PR plans
  • Manage the tracking and analysis of PR coverage, helping to identify trends and opportunities to improve performance

Requirements
  • PR, media or journalism experience
  • Relationships with media
  • Experience securing media coverage across different platforms
  • Understanding of modern media consumption
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • A 'can-do' attitude with a positive, proactive mindset
  • Creative thinking and storytelling ability
  • Basic understanding of data and analytics to inform PR plans
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of current consumer and PR trends
