Job Description

What’s it all about?

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VC&A) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including issuers, acquirer & merchants.


Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, product development, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, Visa Consulting and Analytics solves the most strategic problems for our clients.


In the UK & Ireland Consulting Practice, we apply our deep expertise in the payments industry, underpinned by Visa transaction data, to recommend a path that will assist our clients in driving growth and improving profitability.


The team is looking for a Senior Consultant to oversee consulting activities with merchants and/ or acquirers, delivering high quality consultancy engagements as well as building and nurture fruitful business relationships between Visa and its key clients.


The role will manage internal and external project team members, assume responsibility for project budgets, and contribute to annual and longer-term sales and delivery targets.


Example projects:

  • How can an acquirer or merchant identify profitable new markets or categories of spend?

  • How can an acquirer or merchant better understand customer loyalty?

  • How can a merchant or acquirer accept more payments and reduce cardholder abandonment at the point of payment?

  • How can a merchant or acquirer reduce its volume of customer disputes?


What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Lead consulting initiatives and close engagements by identifying potential opportunities.

  • Identify solutions, actionable insights and provide strategic guidance that will help clients to better understand their business, improve performance and growth.

  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., sales, marketing, risk, innovation and product) and across global regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.

  • The Senior Consultant will also be required to support the practice by:

    • Evangelising to clients, potential clients and internal stakeholders on key trends impacting the merchant and/ or acquiring market, and how VC&A can support.

    • Supporting the industrialisation of popular client engagements

    • Coaching and mentoring less experienced members of the team to develop their knowledge, skillsets, and career with Visa.


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What we’re after…
• Significant experience at a large management consulting firm or similarly strategic role at an Acquirer or Merchant, with proven project deliveries
• Excellent client relationship management skills (at both a senior executive level as well as all levels of an organisation)
• Ability to solve business problems through data driven methodologies and strong analytical skills
• Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance with a focus on impacting ROI
• Strong Business Acumen and Business Analysis Skills (ability to research and analyse market and client information whilst telling a story)
• Project experience in a digital and technology-driven environment
• Excellent spoken and written command of English.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to comprehend and convey complex technical information
• Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently
• Strong sense of curiosity and desire to maintain own professional development.
