The role

The Compliance Monitoring Manager will report directly to the Director of Compliance and will be responsible for leadership of the Compliance Monitoring function within the team.

This role will be key to the design and implementation of a Thematic Review Framework, and the completion of consistent and effective compliance thematic reviews under it, including the effective reporting associated to each review and presentation to the relevant stakeholders across the organisation.

Within this role you will also look to design and execute an effective Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP), which will require appropriate engagement with all relevant business areas and the consideration of Railpen’s wider goals and priorities to ensure the design of the plan is supportive of such. This role will be responsible for all periodic monitoring and testing processes within the team, and for ensuring that the associated procedures are clear, accurate and maintained on an ongoing basis.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

The person

We are looking for someone with proven Compliance Monitoring experience who has successfully implemented or supported the implementation of a Compliance Monitoring Framework. You will have a deep understanding of controls and have the ability to document the end to end process effectively. A desire to line manage, encourage the development of your direct reports in an inclusive way through coaching and mentoring whilst sharing best practice is key to this role. Knowledge and experience within Investment Management would be a distinct advantage, however this isn’t essential to the role.

The successful candidate will be able to build collaborative and trusting relationships with a variety of key stakeholders across all areas of the business and levels of management. You will be an effective communicator both in writing and orally presenting with the ability to interpret data and information to highlight opportunities and minimise regulatory risk to Railpen. As the Compliance Monitoring Manager, you will lead by example, helping to establish and embed best practice and instil a culture of innovation with the ambition of continuous improvement at the forefront.

Our values of integrity, community and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
