About the position

We are looking for a Compliance Analyst to join our Regulatory Disclosures and Reporting team in London. You'll work with business groups across the firm to identify and meet the regulatory reporting and position disclosure obligations that apply to Jane Street's European business.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll build a deep understanding of the UK and EU disclosure regimes and become a point of contact for traders on how those rules apply to their activity. It's a great opportunity to gain exposure to a global trading business and see how UK, EU and international regulations interact.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting our compliance with EU and UK position reporting requirements, including monitoring positions, preparing and submitting disclosures and reviewing disclosure obligations (e.g. under the EU Short Selling Regulation, Transparency Directive and UK Takeover Code)
  • Helping trading desks understand the disclosure requirements that apply to their trading
  • Analysing new and changing regulations, assessing their impact on the firm and helping translate them into clear business requirements
  • Working with our in-house developers to improve the compliance tools and systems we rely on
  • Identifying ways to make the team's controls and processes more efficient
  • Responding promptly and accurately to queries from internal and external parties

This role sits within our Legal and Compliance team, a dedicated group of professionals who share a deep understanding of the law, a meticulous commitment to regulatory protocol and a passion for protecting our colleagues as they focus on their daily work.

About you
  • Have an undergraduate degree and 1+ years of professional experience; having experience at a liquidity provider, broker or bank is a plus but not required
  • A clear communicator who can explain your reasoning and conclusions to colleagues across the firm
  • A motivated self-starter who can handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a strong ability to perform operational tasks; detail-oriented and pragmatic with sound judgement
  • A reliable, flexible team player with a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working with data and technology; programming experience is not required
  • Fluent in English
