We are looking for a technically proficient Community Manager with a strong background in cybersecurity and open-source communities. This role, situated within our marketing organization, requires a passionate individual who excels in content creation, video production, and social media engagement. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between SpecterOps and the broader security community, driving adoption and growth of SpecterOps’ open-source products, while highlighting the value of wider research, training, products and services undertaken by the company.

Salary Range: base salary annually, commensurate with experience. 

  • Mid-level: $100,000 - $120,000 / £65,000 – £80,000
  • Senior level: $120,000 - $140,000 / £80,000 – £95,000 

Location: This position is remote with occasional travel for in-person company events, conferences and other ad hoc meetings. Preference will be given to candidates located in the continental US, but we will also consider candidates based in United Kingdom.   

  • Candidate must be authorized to work and reside in the United States or United Kingdom; we do not currently sponsor immigration visas.  

Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement: Cultivate and manage relationships within the open-source security community, responding to inquiries, moderating discussions, and fostering a collaborative environment across various platforms. Cross-promote the benefits of SpecterOps-managed open-source products to existing users, with a goal of increasing overall downloads and usage.  
  • Content Creation: Develop high-quality content, including technical articles, tutorials, demos, and videos, to educate and engage the community. Collaborate with internal product, marketing and research teams to produce materials that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Social Media Management: Strategize and execute social media campaigns to increase the visibility of BloodHound Community Edition and SpecterOps open-source tools. Monitor trends and conversations in the cybersecurity space to inform content and engagement strategies.
  • Event Coordination: Monitor opportunities for SpecterOps at open-source conferences, community meetups, webinars, and podcasts. Organize events that promote knowledge sharing and community building, in collaboration with internal and external teams & groups
  • Feedback Integration: Gather and analyze feedback from the community to inform product development and improvement. Advocate for community needs within the organization to ensure our offerings align with user expectations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and support teams to align community initiatives with business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations based on community interactions and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Experience with open-source security tools, particularly BloodHound, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate is an active contributor to one or more open-source identity or cybersecurity products.
  • Proven ability to create engaging written and visual content. Experience with video production and editing tools is a plus. The ideal candidate has a blog or YouTube channel that resonates with the security community. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, both online and in-person.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and executing successful engagement strategies. The ideal candidate has a track record of building a following in the security community. 
  •  Ability to analyze community metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  •  Collaborative attitude with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background investigation.
