The role of the Community Impact Director touches each of these areas but focuses most intently on the needs and concerns affecting QTS employees and our communities.

This role will provide an opportunity to support the SVP of Community Impact and team in the assistance and growth of our Community Impact programs and the care for every employee and their family. This person will be directly involved in the lives of employees as well as being active in the programs and corporate events that serve our people and our communities.

Responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage the Community Impact teams in region or country, develop capabilities, and set policies necessary to serve employees and the Community Impact senior leadership, engage employees, and achieve objectives. Develop the programs of the Community Impact team as requested and ensure the implementation and administration of various Community Impact programs, processes, projects, and objectives.

  • Lead, train, and promote the QTS mission, strategy, and Core Values while providing caring support for all employees.

  • Serve as a confidential listener and provide senior corporate chaplaincy support for employees and their family.

  • Act as a senior leader in region and liaison between employees and Community Impact team senior leadership.

  • Partner closely with SVP of Community Impact and team to own responsibility within assigned portfolio for carrying out and empowering others in areas of Q-Community, Belonging and Engagement and employee relations opportunities while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding employees’ conversations and interactions.

  • Lead Community Impact team in region and assist SVP in providing employee and family member counseling and connecting them to next level support.

  • Participate in and provide leadership coordination of team that is engaged in implementing activities including volunteer events, summer and holiday activities, and other site events.

  • Establish a schedule of site visits as a leader directly as well as with Community Impact team, SVP, and other leaders that focus on employee interactions to build trusting relationships with all employees. Significant and flexible travel required.

  • Responsible for being available for crisis response activities to support SVP and Community Impact team, including but not limited to hospital calls, assisting at funerals, and other related duties.

  • Leading and advising teams and other leaders in region that are promoting all Community Impact programs such as the QTS Employee Crisis Fund, Scholarship Fund, QTS sponsored events and other philanthropy projects. Oversee Accounting and budget functions related to all Funds and Projects assigned to region.

  • Identify and establish T3 (Time, Talent, Treasure) relationship with organizations in the community that align with QTS core values and culture. As new markets open in region, work ahead of site development to also establish these relationships. Create and ensure that all required documentation is in place and audited for compliance.

  • Create opportunities and innovative plans for Community Impact that include our Belonging & Engagement (BE), Q-Community, and Employee Experience (EX) action item efforts in region.

  • Develop new programs and include plans for launch, communications, and procedures that will allow for successful, impactful, and growing impact.

  • Leadership - lead and develop team as well as portfolio wide programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a related field, or 10+ years related work experience and or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ten or more years of leading and serving people/social work or related experience.

  • Successful track record working in a multi-function environment with the complexities of meeting the diverse needs of employees, community organizations, and internal business lines.

  • Project management and team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience that includes PM and oversight of major programs and strategic planning.

  • Ten or more years of leading, serving people/social work/chaplain related experience.

  • Five plus years leading cross-organizational teams

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization.

  • Maintain positive relationships and communication with staff and executive level management.

  • Acute listening and communication skills and able to lead presentations.

  • Drive innovation into Community Impact programs

  • Supervise the preparation of and implementation of assigned operating budget.

  • Be a leader in the community. Participate in community activities and organizations as appropriate and assigned.

  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, various world faith systems which will enable an interdisciplinary understanding of all employees.

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all communications with employees and management.

  • Proven skills in various levels of professional counseling/mentoring/coaching.

  • Be comfortable in providing guidance as requested.

  • Ability to provide special care/empathy support for employees.

  • Experienced in supporting people through challenging situations which may include critical illness and death.

  • Displays a high level of emotional strength and stability.

  • Ability to work comfortably with individuals of any race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.

  • Ensure proper training and growth of teams and leaders in region.
