Join the team that is building a trusted internet for Canadians! CIRA is best known for managing the system that keeps more than 3 million .CA domains running as smooth as maple syrup, but we do so much more to help Canadians thrive on the internet.

Whether it’s our cybersecurity products that protect Canadians online, our advocacy work that fights for a better internet, or our Net Good Grants that support hundreds of community-led internet projects across Canada—we work every day to keep the internet strong and free. Join us!

Who you are:

You’re a born copy editor who can shape and sharpen compelling narratives to raise CIRA’s profile and our efforts to build a trusted internet for Canadians. You think like an editor-in-chief, setting a clear voice, coaching contributors and keeping many moving pieces on track without breaking a sweat. You have serious copywriting and editing chops, all grounded in CIRA’s established style guide. You’re dynamic, collaborative and equally comfortable brainstorming big ideas or polishing off the final comma (which is never an Oxford). Most of all, while you understand the value of unplugging, you’re hyped to help Canadians succeed and thrive on the internet.

What you’ll do:

As a Communications Manager, you’ll lead the planning, creation and direction of CIRA’s communications across all of our channels—helping bring structure to our storytelling and consistency to our voice. You’ll partner closely with teams across the organization to build and review integrated content that supports CIRA’s goals. You’ll create compelling materials and smart strategies and yes, you may even dance in your chair when you catch that niggling typo.

  • Own the cross-channel editorial Trello calendar—prioritizing, scheduling and coordinating content across our website, email distributions and social, with crystal-clear workflows and approvals.
  • Edit all of CIRA’s high-impact copy (from headlines to buttons to long-form) to keep it on-brand, accessible and CP-style clean.
  • Serve as the day-to-day steward for content quality and accuracy, fact-checking, line editing and ensuring technical clarity where needed.
  • Work with the communications team to ensure the steady flow of corporate content published through CIRA’s owned and earned media.
  • Collaborate directly with the Design and UX team to ensure content is optimized for all platforms including website, printed event materials, promotional assets and so on.
  • Manage content pipelines and relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors alike to deliver content in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the Event Manager on internal and external events on theme creation to promotions, logistics and post-event content to ensure every event reflects CIRA’s brand and values.

What you bring:

  • Completion of a university degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven years in a communications role with experience in copy editing, writing and social media.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Experience building and executing editorial strategies.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of web content management systems (knowledge of WordPress is an asset) and mass-mail tools. Knowledge of HTML is an asset.
  • Ability to create, edit and publish multimedia content (text, audio, video) with familiarity with the platforms required to do so.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; bilingualism is highly recommended.

At CIRA, we’re driven by a passion to make a positive impact on Canada’s digital future. We’re not just asking, ‘What more can we do?’—we’re actively exploring new frontiers to enhance and secure the internet for all Canadians. Our recognition as one of the National Capital Region’s Top Employers for nine years is a testament to our vibrant culture. We believe in fostering an environment where collaboration and candour are second nature and where diverse perspectives are integral to our success, because we know that great ideas come from everywhere. If you’re passionate about innovation and ready to make a difference in a dynamic field, join us and help shape the future of the internet!

CIRA embraces a blend of remote and IRL in-office work to keep our team connected and engaged. Our Ottawa headquarters is a hub for regular events and social activities that bring our team together, encouraging a strong sense of community within our organization. No matter where you work from, you'll always feel part of our vibrant team and our shared mission.

Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
