Pinterest is seeking a senior communications expert to join its International Communications team in the UK. This is a senior, high-impact position focused on policy and corporate communications. The ideal candidate will be an authority on the UK media and political landscape, skilled at amplifying our company’s voice while navigating regulatory and corporate reputation issues.

You will adapt our global narrative to resonate with UK and on occasions European audiences, identify cross-functional opportunities, and craft tailored communications strategies and materials. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to UK senior leadership and the global C-suite, directly influencing how Pinterest is understood by key external stakeholders.


What you'll do:

  • Partner with the UK Country Communications Lead and International Comms team to shape and deliver a UK communications strategy aligned with Pinterest’s global communications objectives.
  • Drive media relations: identify, pitch, and place compelling stories in business, policy, and corporate outlets.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, industry analysts, and key stakeholders; manage press briefings and respond to media enquiries, including rapid response (and strategy) to high-priority issues.
  • Profile executives and thought leaders: secure relevant speaking opportunities and manage executive communications and positioning.
  • Lead policy communications: monitor the policy/regulatory landscape (especially relating to online safety), plan proactive campaigns, and respond strategically to emerging issues. Partner closely with inhouse Policy teams.
  • Manage issues and crisis communications as needed, ensuring timely and effective messaging to external audiences.
  • Create and deliver op-eds, executive commentary, and thought leadership pieces and partnership opportunities to reinforce Pinterest’s role as a positive platform.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global and local teams, including marketing, product policy, and legal, to ensure coordinated and impactful comms.

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years’ communications experience—ideally split between agency and in-house roles with a technology or digital media brand
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Comms, Business or Marketing, OR equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in UK media and policy, plus a strong grasp of EU/global
  • Experience shaping strategies and messaging during policy debates, especially those related to online safety, privacy, or platform regulation
  • Proven track record of working directly with C-suite executives
  • Deep issues management and media relations experience (UK and international)
  • Exceptional prioritisation skills; calm and effective under pressure
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication abilities
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset; experience working in complex global organisations

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration approximately 1-2 times a week and needs to be in a commutable distance from our London office.
