About the Role

This is not just another comms role. This is your opportunity to step directly into the heart of European Venture Capital, work alongside the continent’s most ambitious founders, and gain invaluable, hands-on experience learning from an experienced Communications & Brand Lead.

We’re looking for a creative, detail-obsessed, and proactive storyteller ready to experiment, elevate our brand, and amplify the success of breakthrough companies. If you live and breathe European tech and are ready to make a measurable impact from day one, we want to hear from you.

About Cherry Ventures

Cherry Ventures is a leading early-stage venture capital firm led by a team of founders and operators with experience building fast-scaling companies such as Spotify, Zalando, and Uber. The firm backs Europe’s boldest founders, usually as their first institutional investor, and supports them in everything from go-to-market strategy and scaling the business to team formation across all crucial stages in their journey.

What You’ll Do

As the Communications & Content Manager, you will be crucial in strengthening Cherry Ventures’ position as a thought leader and a go-to partner for top founders. This role is a blend of strategic brand building, creative experimentation, and high-impact portfolio support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creative Content & Storytelling: Write, edit, and concept compelling narratives for thought leadership, newsletters, and media. Test new formats (e.g., video, social experiments) and channel strategies to engage the ecosystem.

  • Media Relations & Strategic Visibility: Support and grow relationships with key tech reporters and media outlets. Identify and manage strategic positioning opportunities (conferences, awards) that drive high-value visibility for the firm and our founders.

  • Brand Experimentation & Social Strategy: Help define and execute our social media strategy. Develop sharp, distinct messaging that clearly articulates Cherry’s strategy, values, and proprietary market insights.

  • Founder-Focused Portfolio Support: Act as a communications partner to our portfolio. Coordinate and amplify success stories, build essential founder comms toolkits, and run high-profile spotlight campaigns.

  • Events & Ecosystem Engagement: Support high-quality communications (invitations, promotional materials) for high-stakes Cherry events, including our annual general meeting (AGM).

  • Editorial Excellence & Detail: Ensure all external communication—from a pitch email to a website update—meets the highest standards of editorial quality, accuracy, and our distinct tone of voice.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who wants to accelerate their career in the competitive world of venture or tech communications.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience & Drive: 4–6 years of experience in a fast-paced marketing, communications, PR, or content role—ideally within technology or the startup sector.

  • VC Ecosystem Passion: Demonstrated curiosity and passion for venture capital and the European startup ecosystem—you know the players and major stories.

  • Exceptional Comms & Detail: Outstanding writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for nuance, tone, clarity, and precision.

  • Mindset: Creative, Proactive, Experimenter: You’re a confident self-starter who thrives on experimentation and is constantly looking for fresh, creative ways to tell a story. You’re comfortable working with diverse, high-calibre stakeholders (founders, partners, media).

  • Execution Excellence: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, and maintain meticulous organizational standards.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: GBP 48,000 – 55,000 per year

  • Why Cherry:

    • Work directly with an experienced communications team where your work has immediate, measurable impact

    • Build invaluable relationships across Europe’s top-tier VC, tech, and media landscapes

    • Gain hands-on experience across the full spectrum of strategic communications, brand, and marketing within a leading VC fund
