As a Commercial Strategy Associate at Via, you’ll be on the cutting-edge of the mobility revolution, combining your exceptional analytical skills with Via’s sophisticated transit planning and simulation technology. You will plan and design robust transit networks, leverage data-driven insights to optimize complex systems, and take on strategic projects that uncover opportunities to improve service quality and efficiency across hundreds of Via’s markets. You’ll work closely and collaboratively with Sales, Partner Success, Operations, Launch, and Product teams to develop and implement the strategies and product features that position Via and its partners for success.

What You'll Do:

  • Become an expert at recognizing and applying strategies and levers to design and optimize sophisticated, multimodal transportation technology and systems.
  • Learn to solve complex transportation problems by identifying where and how on-demand transit can improve a network. Examples include providing a first/last mile service for a bus or rail line, optimizing coverage in areas with under-performing fixed-route service, or upgrading paratransit/dial-a-ride.
  • Leverage Via’s proprietary datasets to continuously optimize services by providing detailed and action-oriented insights; you will help ensure the success of Via’s global deployments.
  • Build insightful analyses and dashboards to identify opportunities and track progress.
  • Contribute to innovation-oriented transit consulting projects to help communities study and design forward-looking, multimodal transportation and transit systems.
  • Contribute to product development, both internal and consumer-facing, to enhance service performance and our partners’ user experience.

Who You Are:

  • A strong generalist problem solver, passionate about transportation and improving access to mobility in urban, suburban, and rural communities around the world.
  • Comfortable with analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python) and excited to further develop this skill set.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; you’re able to crunch numbers and find creative solutions, then create clear slides to share your analyses to build consensus.
  • Able to think critically and systematically about mobility challenges, data issues, and new concepts in transportation technology.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential; you communicate with clarity, accuracy, and professionalism. German proficiency is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics) is a plus, but not required.
  • 0-3 years of experience, likely at a high-growth startup, established tech company, consulting, or financial firm.

What We Offer:

  • Joining a global employer with over 700 mobility deployments in 35+ countries
  • Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good
  • Competitive compensation including stock options
  • A hybrid working model and a spacious office near Chancery Lane, where you can enjoy weekly team lunches
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid parental leave, and health scheme offered through AXA
  • Partnership with YellowNest, a salary exchange benefit that helps reduce childcare fees for working parents

We’re Via, and we build technology that changes the way the world moves. We’re driven by a simple mission: to create modern and efficient public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. With our best in class suite of products, we make transit thrive.

Our teams of world-class engineers, data-scientists, product managers, operations specialists, marketers, transit experts and more bring cutting-edge AI-powered software and innovative technology-enabled operations to our partners across the globe. Founded in 2012, Via builds solutions to digitize, automate, and enable data-driven decision making for entire transportation networks; fixed-route buses, microtransit, paratransit, school buses, autonomous vehicles, and more.

If you’re excited to be at the forefront of modernizing the future of transportation, are up for solving tough problems, and willing to become/already are a transit nerd, we are the place for you. Even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description for this role, we encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this or other opportunities.

Via is an equal opportunity employer.
