Main function of the job
  • The Senior Lead CIB Portfolio Manager will be responsible for meeting the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance for corporate banking FIG clients headquartered in the EMEA region.
  • The candidate will be an individual contributor reporting to the EMEA Head of FIG Portfolio Management and will act as a senior subject-matter authority for Banks credit risk across the region, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures outlined by the Line of Business and the Enterprise Risk framework.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide oversight of the FIG Banks credit portfolio, leading analysis and recommendations on moderately to highly complex and higher-risk credit matters for cross functional stakeholders and internal partners. Expected to take the lead on credit and capital allocation recommendations at appropriate forums or committees.
  • Partner with senior FIG and CIB leadership to help shape portfolio strategy, risk appetite, and capital deployment priorities for the EMEA Banks portfolio.
  • Lead coordination and execution of loan booking, closing, legal documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Detailed credit, financial statement analysis, industry analysis and projection modelling to ensure accurate portfolio monitoring, accurate risk ratings, covenant compliance, watchlist updates, and recognition of potential problems loans.
  • Promote the maintenance of a portfolio that adheres to all applicable credit policies and compliance requirements. Ensure internal risk reviews and assessments are performed in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Monitor industry and macroeconomic trends to deliver forward-looking portfolio insights and proactively manage risks and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure Lines of Business expectations and priorities are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with coordination and preparation for borrower/portfolio reviews and responses for internal and external exams.
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy within CIB Portfolio Management functional area. Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including more experienced leadership.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend strategies for process improvement and risk control development within CIB Portfolio Management functional area.
Skills and Requirements
  • 8+ years of CIB Portfolio Management or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. [TBA with HR]
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Banks' credit risk and underwriting guidelines and CIB credit policies. A broad knowledge of market traded products and counterparty credit exposure will be particularly advantageous.
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment. Strong negotiating skills with experience leading efforts with multiple stakeholder groups. Experience in the Securities industry, including sector-based experience.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements across the EMEA region.
  • Experience in dealing with senior leaders across business divisions and risk and control departments
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgement with a high level of discretion.
  • Dynamic, highly motivated, target oriented and professionally committed.
  • Resilient, proactive, and hands-on with a can-do attitude.
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity.
