Introducing Trainline Partner Solutions 👋

Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS) powers the technology that enables Travel Management Companies (TMCs), Online Booking Tools (OBTs), and other distribution partners across Europe to sell and manage rail travel seamlessly. In addition, it offers a booking platform dedicated to corporates called Trainline Business and offers White Label solutions to rail operators. We are on an exciting path to growth and we need you!

Overview of the Role

The Commercial Operations Analyst will play a key role within the Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS) team, primarily supporting the B2B Distribution business. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the team’s Salesforce environment, ensuring data accuracy and driving better pipeline discipline across the commercial function. As an analyst you will manage and enhance standard reporting, providing regular insights into commercial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. You will also support the setting of performance targets, contribute to sales incentive tracking, and assist in preparing materials and presentations for business reviews and senior leadership updates.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance reporting tools and dashboards, delivering key recurring reports such as sales performance, forecasts, pipeline reviews, among others.

  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations to improve commercial performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends for leadership and the sales team. communicate recommendations and escalate when needed.

  • Conduct regular account and revenue assurance checks to ensure alignment between commercial agreements and billing data.

  • Continuously monitors, improves and owns pipeline data quality, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions with the sales teams.

  • Transform pipeline information into actionable, forward-looking insights, inform planning and performance management, and share with stakeholders across the organisation.

  • Manage and optimize Salesforce usage, ensuring data accuracy and driving process improvements that enhance business insight.

  • Support the commercial team with account planning and revenue growth initiatives.

  • Assist in defining performance targets and administering the Sales Incentive Scheme.

  • Prepare presentation materials and reports for senior management and business reviews.

  • Contribute to the development and tracking of sales KPIs and performance goals.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Basic understanding of commercial, analytical, or business operations concepts

  • Ability to work with data to produce clear insights; confidence using Excel, SQL server or similar analytical tools.

  • Ability to work with modular reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI.

  • Basic level of understanding of databases and querying languages. (programming experience is a plus).

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus but not required).

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience producing reports, dashboards, or performance insights.

  • Awareness of sales processes, pipeline management, or revenue analysis is advantageous.

  • Experience in business travel, rail distribution, or a similar industry is beneficial but not mandatory.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Data science, Engineering, or another numerate or commercial discipline, or ability to demonstrate equivalent analytical capability.

  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in analytical roles
