The Commercial Manager will primarily support on Race Promotion’s commercial engagements with Support Race Series to optimise the calendar as well as manage the day-to-day relationships with our Support Race partners.

Secondarily, the role will also include supporting on Promoter engagements to manage and develop local sponsorship opportunities in market. This includes managing the approval process of incoming local sponsorship opportunities from our Promoters.

This cross-functional role will involve collaborating with both our external Support Race entities, Promoters and internal departments.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Support the Head of Race and Market Development with optimising the Support Race calendar and the daily management of Support Race partners by:

  • identifying available slots and Support Race opportunities market by market
  • working closely with our F2/F3/F1 Academy teams to build strong relationships between F1 and our Promoters
  • managing the day-to-day relationship with our external Support Race partners
  • improving the coordination between Promoter and all F1 departments in relation to Support Race activities
  • managing formal debrief sessions following each race to continue to improve the delivery of our Support Races

Support the Head of Race and Market Development with developing local sponsorship opportunities by:

  • managing local sponsorship opportunities from initial brand identification, term sheet development to stakeholder approval
  • creating support material including insight reports, commercial decks etc. to assist our Promoters in the sales process
  • tracking deals, contractual rights and available inventory to help monitor and drive new revenue opportunities
  • develop and improve processes including internal sponsorship CRM system

About You

We would like to meet candidates, who:

  • have previous experience in client/stakeholder management and understanding of sponsorship sales and account management
  • have excellent communication and relationship skills as well as being process orientated
  • have a good knowledge of the sport business industry (ideally motorsport specifically)
  • are agile, can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver results under pressure to a deadline
  • have a growth mindset, cultural awareness, and an international outlook on life
  • are apt at building strong relationships and have commercial awareness
  • pride themselves on having a high degree of attention to detail
  • are problem solvers and come with a solution focused ‘can do’ attitude
