About The Team
This sits within the Supply & Partnerships division of PXC and reports to the Commercial and Engagement Director - Openreach. The team is responsible for all the commercial activity with Openreach including optimising the commercial position for PXC at every opportunity, leveraging the relationships and contracts to PXC’s benefit, reducing the cost of doing business with suppliers (COG’s). The Team are also responsible for negotiation of commercial terms / deals and offers, monitoring performance against contractual terms, deals & offers and input into OR consultation documents (I.e. Exchange exit).
In addition to this, they look after all commercial activity with off-net connectivity suppliers, over the top (OTT), value add suppliers and manage the day-to-day relationship with OR, off net and OTT suppliers.
About Your Role
This is an exciting opportunity within the Supply and Partnerships division of PXC for a commercially astute individual to own and drive a key element of the group’s supplier strategy.
We are in the midst of a Full Fibre revolution which is the biggest change in the broadband industry for a generation. Full Fibre allows end customers to enjoy speed and reliability that changes how they interact with the digital world as consumers, homeworkers or businesses.
The good news for PXC is that there are several suppliers rolling out Full Fibre networks that are looking to create competitive supply across the industry.
Leveraging PXC’s significant scale this industry pivot from copper to Full Fibre connectivity generates an opportunity to develop a compelling mix of supplier partnerships which provide OTT (over the top) services which are dependent on fast reliable connectivity.
This role is key to building a long-lasting relationship with existing OTT suppliers and potential new suppliers. You will nurture these relationships to make sure PXC can take full advantage of the partnerships and fully leverage the vast connectivity network already in place.
By owning the relationship with these suppliers, you will ensure that we maximise the partnerships to drive the right commercial outcomes for PXC, our partners and the supplier. Management is via a clear governance, strategy, performance and planning framework.
What you'll get involved in
Taking accountability and ownership for driving commercial benefits from OTT supplier relationships by:

Tightly managing all commercial KPI’s (I.e. unit economics, COG’s & contractual compliance) of the relationship.

Identifying and delivering commercial improvements that deliver an improved financial position for PXC via cost reduction or revenue generation activity.

A growth mindset and a clear focus on value creation collaborating and coordinating with our key partners to ensure both trading and change delivery plans are designed to maximise the value from the supplier relationship.

Working closely with Finance to identify and highlight opportunities to drive value for PXC whether that be contractual benefits, cost reduction or commercial initiatives.

Taking a data led approach working with our Insight teams to ensure we understand current and future opportunities to improve the commercial position with the supplier.

Being the Commercial lead for all information required on OTT suppliers and sign-off on any changes to the commercial approach with them.

Negotiating commercial changes directly with OTT suppliers and managing internal communications to ensure alignment across business units.

Commercial acumen to allow detailed appraisal of any commercial changes and the impact to PXC.

Managing both internal and external relationships to ensure the optimal commercial position with OTT suppliers which results in the optimal financial position for PXC.
This role requires the following skill set and expertise:

Commercial and analytical acumen to deliver the optimal outcome for PXC.

Ability to make recommendations and communicate them to senior stakeholders for agreement / approval.

Ability to quickly assimilate complex information and concepts and then simplify for communicating to others (including complex legal / contractual and regulatory documentation).

Work in a highly collaborate way with other business units / partners and where required use a matrix management approach to help deliver the S&P priorities / strategy.

Ability to understand and interpret financial statements (P&L, cashflow etc.) and Commercial KPI’s.

Ability to work with complex data and be able to articulate what is needed to answer a problem statement to the relevant teams (e.g. the Insight Team).

Experience of dealing with external parties, ideally in relation to Commercial matters would be viewed favourably.
