Commercial Manager (African, Caribbean, South Asian or MENA Category)

The Role
We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our expanding regional team working across Central London, with a clear remit across African, Caribbean, South Asian or MENA (Middle East & North Africa) and Merchants

This is an opportunity to become a critical member of a growing business in one of the most dynamic industries of modern times. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with new and existing restaurant partners in your area, improving our proposition for customers and identifying ways to drive our growth in the African, Caribbean, South Asian or MENA (Middle East & North Africa) category.

This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys building and maintaining relationships. The role is essentially business development, account management and strategic management, offering genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape growth in a fast-growing business.

What you’ll do

  • You will become the local expert for the African, Caribbean, South Asian or MENA (Middle East & North Africa) category within Central London. This means learning our industry inside and out, and representing Deliveroo across a diverse range of restaurant partners.

  • Account management for top partners in the area, supporting and optimising their performance on the Deliveroo platform for growth.

  • Identify and sign up new and top local favourites with Cultural relevance for the local neighbourhoods and Deliveroo, and set them up for success.

  • Understand and improve our customer offering in the area through strong local and authentic knowledge. This will involve improving our selection, optimising restaurant operations, and working on the area’s strategy plan alongside a Head of Category.

  • Maximise the potential of marketing opportunities in the area by encouraging restaurant participation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Account and relationship management experience

  • Deep understanding of African, Caribbean, South Asian or MENA (Middle East & North Africa) food categories, with broader exposure to Asian cuisines a plus. Understanding the ecosystem they live in within London and customer behaviours

  • Proven effective relationship building and communication skills

  • Evidence of negotiation skills: able to structure win-win deals for restaurants and for Deliveroo

  • Commercially knowledgeable: understands the economics of food delivery, and able to demonstrate product and industry knowledge to partners

  • Evidence of consistently analysing and strategically actioning on partner and city/area performance data, with positive impact

  • Evidence of consistent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and effectively champion our partner needs

  • Able to work proactively and independently, seeking guidance when needed

  • Excellent problem solving skills, we like out of the box thinking

  • Credibility with founders and operators in those cuisines

  • Ability to build trust in communities that may historically be under-served or under-represented

Our Requirements

  • Able and willing to travel around London to meet restaurant partners.

We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

Benefits and Diversity
At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing startups in an incredibly exciting space.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our hiring process. We recognise that some candidates may require adjustments to apply for a position or fairly participate in the interview process. If you require any adjustments, please don't hesitate to let us know. We will make every effort to provide the necessary adjustments to ensure you have an equitable opportunity to succeed.
