We have an exciting opportunity for an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant to join our Commercial Buildings Finance team in a highly visible and commercially focused role.

As Commercial Management Accountant, you will work at the heart of the business, partnering with Sales, Finance, Operations and senior leadership across our UK and European Commercial Buildings businesses.

This is much more than a traditional reporting role. You will use your professional finance expertise and commercial insight to influence decision-making, challenge performance, identify opportunities and help drive profitable growth.

You will play an important role in developing our reporting and data insight capabilities, strengthening commercial financial acumen across the business and providing leaders with the information and analysis they need to make well-informed decisions.

Reporting directly to the Segment Finance Director, this role offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and an opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the growth ambitions of the Genuit Group.

The role is based at our Tewkesbury office, with hybrid working available: three days in the office and two days working from home.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Insight & Business Partnering

  • Partner with Sales, Finance and Operational teams to deliver accurate, timely and commercially insightful KPI reporting to support effective decision-making.
  • Provide analysis and insight into business profitability, with particular focus on net sales, material margins and price/volume/mix performance.
  • Work closely with Sales teams to evaluate promotional investment, customer incentives and commercial contracts, helping improve margin and return on investment.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable commercial insight and recommendations for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Develop strong relationships across the business, becoming a trusted finance partner while providing constructive challenge to commercial decisions and investment proposals.
  • Identify emerging commercial risks and opportunities and ensure these are clearly understood by key stakeholders.

Reporting, Planning & Performance

  • Develop and own segment, customer and product-level daily sales reporting, ensuring decision-makers have access to relevant, accurate and meaningful information.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and rolling forecasts across the relevant entities.
  • Produce high-quality ad-hoc financial and operational analysis for the Financial Controller, Segment Finance Director and wider leadership team.
  • Support leaders in understanding performance against budget and forecast, identifying the key drivers behind variances and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Provide appropriate financial analysis to support strategic and commercial decision-making.

We Take Ownership

At Genuit, we take accountability for delivering results and doing the right thing for our business, customers and colleagues.

In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of key areas of commercial reporting and analysis, ensuring stakeholders have the information and insight they need to act.
  • Provide detailed analysis of business profitability, particularly net sales and material margins, with clear price/volume/mix analysis and performance targets.
  • Working with the Financial Controller and Segment Finance Director, manage the quarterly and annual sales bonus programme, ensuring UK Sales performance is accurately monitored and appropriately incentivised.
  • Take responsibility for providing relevant business data to heating industry trade associations and analysing external sector statistics and metrics to identify meaningful trends and insights for the business.
  • Support the preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation and responses to audit queries.
  • Maintain strong financial discipline and ensure sensitive financial and commercial information is handled responsibly and in accordance with internal controls and governance requirements.
  • Proactively identify performance issues and follow them through to resolution, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation.

We Find a Better Way

We are always looking for opportunities to improve how we work and how we use information to make better business decisions.

You will:

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve reporting and business processes, particularly as new systems and technologies are introduced.
  • Improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of financial and commercial data.
  • Challenge existing processes constructively and identify more efficient and effective ways of working.
  • Contribute to the development of process documentation and training materials, supporting greater resilience and knowledge sharing across the business.
  • Help strengthen financial capability across the organisation by providing finance training and support to non-finance managers.
  • Support improvements in how data is captured, validated, analysed and presented to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Help move reporting from simply explaining historical performance towards providing forward-looking, actionable commercial insight.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will be a professionally qualified accountant with strong commercial finance capability and a genuine interest in understanding what sits behind the numbers.

Essential

  • Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA professional qualification.
  • Strong experience within commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or a similarly commercially focused finance role.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial performance and identify the actions needed to improve business outcomes.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, profitability analysis and commercial performance management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and clearly communicate trends, performance drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial and business systems.
  • The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful commercial recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility and confidence to constructively challenge commercial and operational decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy and control.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines, competing priorities and changing business requirements.
