We continue to grow, with new and exciting openings planned globally across our business.

The Role…

We have a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about the Soho House brand and businesses to join our in-house legal team as an Interim Commercial Legal Counsel, based at 180 The Strand, London.

What we are looking for…

Ideally, we’re looking for a temporary UK qualified lawyer with between 4-8 years post qualification experience to support with commercial contracts and related matters for a four-month period from early May until late August 2026. You will be used to working in fast-paced and diverse commercial environments while working to transactional deadlines and delivering high quality work on a broad range of legal and commercial issues.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • Solid legal grounding, particularly in contract and general commercial law, with exposure to IT, intellectual property and data protection matters. Previous exposure to real estate, litigation and/or employment matters - whilst not essential - would be advantageous.
  • Strong oral, written communication and problem solving skills.
  • Commercially focused and solution driven.
  • Proactive and flexible with an ability to work independently and as part of a small but dynamic team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize.
  • Good inter-personal skills and a team player.

Key responsibilities…

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts across the range of SH&Co businesses and providing legal advice as required.
  • Supporting the legal team with managing the SH&Co global property and contracts portfolios.
  • Helping to manage and deliver digital and IT projects, including advising on related data protection matters.
  • Developing template contracts and documents and preparing corporate approvals.
  • Providing guidance and support and preparing and delivering trainings on company policies, procedures and corporate governance to facilitate effective performance, communication and good business practice.
  • Providing support on legal and business affairs issues (as required) to management teams and ensuring that sound, commercial, solutions-focused advice is provided whenever required.
  • Helping to support the SH&Co company secretarial functions.
  • Identifying new or updated laws, regulations and directives which impact the SH&Co businesses, and presenting findings to the business.
  • Attending meetings as required and proactively providing updates on your areas of responsibility to internal stakeholders.
  • Liaising with and managing relationships with external legal and professional advisors where appropriate whilst providing as much support in-house as possible.
  • Working effectively with all parts of the business to ensure consistency, efficiency, professionalism and effective communication.
  • Supporting the legal team and the SH&Co businesses on key company initiatives, including diversity and inclusion and its global House Foundations and sustainability programmes.
