Summery: 

The Fusion Sales Lead at digiLab is a client-facing, commercially-minded, and technically-fluent role responsible for managing and growing client relationships and steering market expansion, particularly in the Fusion sector and its related supply chain. This individual will lead the full sales cycle, working closely with internal stakeholders to drive revenue through license and service agreements for digiLab's AI platform, The Uncertainty Engine. 

The position operates on a 4-day workweek (Monday to Thursday) and is ideally based in the Oxford (Culham) office with regular travel to client sites and the Exeter HQ.

What you will be doing with us: 

As a Commercial Lead in Fusion at digiLab, you will be responsible for:

    • Closing deals from the sales pipeline with an initial target to be confirmed for FY 26/27.
    • Prospecting and developing new and existing customer relationships within the fusion sector and its supply chain.
    • Leading strategic account management and growth with fusion accounts including UKAEA, UKIFS / STEP, private fusion clients, and other key supply chain companies or national labs.
    • Lead the full sales cycle: discovery, solution mapping, demo coordination, proposal, and close.
    • Working closely with Business Development,  Forward Deployed Engineers/Physicists, the Product team, and theLab to create commercial proposals aligned on customer objectives and technical fit, ensuring revenue through license and service agreements
    • Understanding complex technical environments and communicating the value of our AI platform and services in those contexts
    • Building strong stakeholder relationships with technical and non-technical buyers (e.g. C-Suite, Heads of department, Technical leaders / managers)
    • Providing accurate forecasting and maintaining up-to-date records in the CRM
    • Staying up-to-date with sector developments including competitors, trends, technologies, and policy.
    • Representing digiLab at industry events through speaking engagements and networking.

    Duties may evolve, and you may be asked to take on other reasonable responsibilities within your competence to support our growth.


Required Skills: 

    • STEM degree education (an Engineering or Physics degree is highly desirable)
    • Ability to travel regularly to client sites and to digiLab offices in Exeter or Culham
    • A desire to master new areas such as data science, machine learning, and uncertainty quantification
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to a range of stakeholders
    • A strategic mindset – able to recognise opportunities and analyse potential for commercial growth
    • Strong interest in business and partnerships, with a desire to shape product and technology direction

In addition, some ‘nice to haves’ are: 

  • Technical domain expertise in one or more of the following: nuclear fission, fusion, mechanical, materials, digital, or systems engineering.
  • Computational competence, with experience performing data analysis (Python and modelling experience would be an asset)
  • Previous experience in a technical Pre-Sales, Business Development, or comparable customer-facing role

Location: 

This role will ideally be based either at our Exeter HQ or Oxford (Culham) office, with regular visits to the other. Hybrid options will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

 It also involves frequent travel to client sites and attendance at conferences both within the UK and occasionally internationally.
