We are now recruiting for a Commercial Head of Project Management – Offshore UK and Ireland who, through effective collaboration with Technical counterpart will provide sound commercial leadership & drive the financial performance of the projects, including identifying and mitigating significant risk and assisting in the development and implementation of the business unit strategy.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

This role will have a broad variety of task and responsibilities, including the ones below:

  • Project execution: Deliver the assigned project portfolio within defined targets and contribute to portfolio optimization. Key interface to senior commercial stakeholders on customer side (e.g. EPC Commercial Director) and first point for escalation. First point of internal upward escalation for hub project and program, issues and decision making for commercial matters. Develop and implement commercial project execution strategies for assigned new markets. Execute claims towards final closure (lead on contract & legal interface)

  • P&L responsibility, Forecast quality, Opportunity Management: Delegated responsibility for P&L delivery of all projects and programs allocated to the hub. Clear transparent and robust governance on portfolio performance, risk and expectations. Balance the portfolio in terms of Revenue, GM, cash flow in collaboration with the other hubs. Responsibility for forecast quality in P&L (full responsibility for financial forecast). Actively drive transparency on opportunities from projects in all key KPIs

  • Implementation of standards & quality assurance: Ensure global approach on project execution as defined for FIN WP OF EXE PM function. Ensure adherence to global financial guidelines within WP (book and records). Ensure quality in all commercial deliverables along PE@SGRE – set specific priorities towards projects for improvement areas. Review of project performance to secure the appropriate governance of the portfolio in execution and act. Ensure compliance with country and global ethical standards, laws, rules and regulations, Business Conduct Guidelines Monitoring timely, at cost and on quality project execution in accordance with PE@SGRE (Siemens Gamesa Renewable. Ensure close learning loop, e.g. towards other projects & hubs, sales and drive preventive action

  • Leadership: Show clear, visible, engaging management and leadership to the portfolio of project execution teams and supporting functions. Drive a leadership culture within the function/project teams that embodies the SGRE values. Drive simplification of commercial project execution. Secure best practice / knowledge sharing

  • People: Derive resource demand and drive improvement projects to grow efficiency for commercial project execution. Engage, build, develop, and continuously improve project teams’ collaboration, diversity and culture. Engage and support individual development supporting the build of experience, knowledge and competencies to support optimal performance. Coach and mentor team leaders to enable them to develop high performing teams

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for,

  • Master’s degree with preferably Finance & Contractual background

  • Being a qualified accountant (ACMA/ACA or other accounting qualification) and/or having significant work experience in the field of accounting is an advantage

  • Significant professional work experience in the field of commercial project management / execution in construction projects – preferably the wind industry (Senior professional – 10 years+)

  • Proven and recognized leader with experience of leading and developing high performance teams in a global organization, who will be able to adapt with the changing needs of the business and project portfolio

  • Be ready for significant travel and integration into the global organization (probably 25% of the time)
