Graduate Careers at Glencore UK

Based in our fast-paced London office, our commercial programme is designed to accelerate the careers of outstanding graduates who have an entrepreneurial outlook and a genuine interest in energy commodity trading.

Our graduate roles combine structured, professional development with on-the-job experience – successful candidates will have direct exposure to the commercial teams and will be trusted to take on responsibility from day one.

The Commercial Graduate Programme

This programme is designed to prove your commercial aptitude and hone your skills for a seat at one of our trading desks. Successful candidates provide front-line support to traders within risk management, analytics, chartering or operations, with opportunities to rotate between. The programme also has within it the opportunity to gain experience working with our physical Assets business, providing insight to a crucial part of commodity trading.

If you are dedicated and driven, you have a can-do spirit, and you are willing to learn and take responsibility, we offer the chance to develop your career in commodities – and the rewards to match.

Who we look for

We look for recent (or soon-to-be) graduates with an excellent track record of individual achievement – who are interested in a challenging, exciting career in the commodities sector.

You should have an entrepreneurial approach, a deeply analytical mindset, and the capability to solve complex problems using a wide range of numerical and technical skills.

Working at Glencore requires commercial awareness, adaptability and resilience – and you will need to thrive in team environments as well as take initiative independently.

To apply to our Commercial Graduate opportunity, you should show

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree at 2.1 or above in STEM, finance, economics or similar. Recent graduates and those predicted to graduate with a 2.1 or above in 2027 are welcome to apply.

• A demonstrated interest in our work in the commodities sector, shown through some relevant experience in the Finance, Energy or Oil industries.

• Ability to speak another language is desired but not essential.

Applications will close on October 9, 2026, and the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK by the start of the placement.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so an earlier application may lead to an earlier decision.
