Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all commercial deals are booked and customer offer sheets are issued within agreed SLAs. Furthermore, this role is responsible for the true up of customer promotions and has elements of balance sheet reconciliation and facilitating aging clearance. The role sits within the Finance Operations Team, and reports to the Commercial Finance Operations Manager;

Key duties include:

  • Ensure that all bookings are processed and offer sheets are issued to customers after approved by the business

  • Ensure all costs types are completely and accurately recorded, supporting evidence is included, costs are correctly classified, that spend is appropriately justified and within budget / authority limits, and that supporting processes are efficient and effective.

  • Ensure fair and accurate accrual bookings and costs are booked in the appropriate month(s)

  • Review all bookings post-promotion and work with the various Fin Ops sub teams to ensure accurate reporting is produced.

  • Working with AR team to aid in validating and processing of customer claims received and management of account accruals

  • Support Commercial Finance Managers with data requests

  • Assist with internal / external adhoc queries as and when required. 

Process and system improvements

  • Continuous review of end-to-end processes for streamlining and better ways of working

  • Undertake adhoc projects to review processes and contribute to implementing aspects of automation to the bookings process as appropriate for different product categories.

  • Be able to adapt to changes in processes brought about by a system, team, division or company change.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail with data transposing skills.

  • Ability to work in a high pressure office environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels, get key messages across succinctly and work with others.

  • Proven track record in demonstrating accountability and ownership with a proactive approach.

  • Strong reporting skills with the ability to display key information.

  • Effective communicator by being able to select the most appropriate method of delivery to gain maximum impact.  

  • Able to work under pressure in a self-sufficient manner, whilst maintaining tight deadlines.

  • Is a team player and is prepared to cover other areas as and when required.

Hard Skills

  • Strong intermediate excel skills (Data handling, Pivots, General formula knowledge).

  • Preferred Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors;

  • Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP).

  • Experience in using multiple systems simultaneously

  • Strong document interpretation skills to then translate into various systems as appropriate.

What does success look like?

Processing of 400 bookings per month with minimal error, and aligning to internal KPIs and customers contracts.

Ensuring data provided to FP&A, Commercial teams and Sales is in a timely and accurate manner.

All company deadlines are adhered to.
