As a Commercial Contracts Lawyer (Marketing) - Assistant Vice President in the Legal Marketing Team, you will support on marketing vendor transactions. This will include negotiating agreements in relation to marketing services, affiliate marketing, marketing technology, platforms, sponsorship, influencers and talent. You will partner closely with the marketing team, helping to deliver strategic projects and guide the business through legal and commercial challenges.
You will be used to working in an agile environment and passionate about supporting an innovative and growing business as part of a diverse and inclusive team.

The group is organized into practice groups that align with the lines of business and corporate staff areas, which encourages collaboration on legal, regulatory and business developments as they arise.

Job responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate marketing vendor contracts, including contracts for the provision of marketing services, affiliate marketing, marketing technology, platforms, sponsorship, influencers and talent
- Advise the marketing team on legal risk and mitigations relating to vendor contracts and proactively "issue spot" to seek timely resolutions
- Working collaboratively with legal colleagues such as privacy and IP, and our sourcing and vendor management partners
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes
- There will also be an opportunity to get involved in legal marketing advisory work, for example, supporting on marketing campaigns, offers, prize draws and AI tools
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- UK or other European qualified lawyer
- Proven experience in leading on negotiations for to business-to-business vendor contracts
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to deliver pragmatic, solutions-oriented advice
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong business insight and able to balance legal risk with commercial objectives
- Confident, pragmatic, self-starter, with a hands-on mentality
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience working in-house is desirable
- Experience in negotiating and advising on marketing related contracts is desirable
