Job Description:

Location: London, Paddington (Hybrid, 60% on site)
Division: Business & Customer Excellence

About the Role

Ipsen is seeking a Commercial Capabilities Manager to play a critical role in optimizing the performance of our sales organization. This position drives capability-building initiatives and governance, ensuring delivery of product knowledge projects and advanced selling skills programs. Through close collaboration with the Global Learning & Development team, you will enable our sales teams to enhance customer engagement and achieve superior commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a field coaching program targeting sales leaders’ development needs.
  • Oversee training governance for Ipsen UK & Ireland, ensuring compliance with global and local policies.
  • Engage and align with key commercial stakeholders to secure sponsorship and shared ownership of training initiatives.
  • Lead core training projects, including:
    • Gamified product knowledge quizzes
    • Annual product knowledge validations
    • Selling skills development aligned with the customer engagement model
    • Key account management skills and processes
  • Manage onboarding training for commercial field roles in collaboration with Medical and Marketing experts.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in sales force capability building, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous sales management experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering training programs for commercial/sales teams.
  • Understanding of field coaching methodologies, customer engagement strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage and optimize learning management systems (e.g., Cornerstone / iLearn).

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in life sciences or similar).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Hybrid working model in line with Ipsen policy.
