About the roleThe Commercial Business Partner role will support the business in commercial and client finance matters. They will have responsibility for ensuring the month end revenue position is reported correctly and on time, as well as forecasting accurately during the month. They will also work closely with Client Leadership to resolve client financial queries and ensure billing and pass through are managed appropriately for the Amsterdam roster of clients
The responsibilities for this role are:
- Month end revenue reporting and recognition. Owns month end revenue figure.
- Monthly and Quarterly revenue forecasting. Work closely with Client Services the FD/CFO to forecast the agency revenue for the coming months and year.
- Day to day financial management of key client accounts.
- Lead PMR meetings and manage a team of two billers to ensure that billing, WIP Management and monthly Purchase Order reviews are completed. Role will likely Include some periodic billing of Invoices.
- Monitoring of client profitability through contribution margin and realisation. Partnering with client services to improve these key performance metrics.
- Creation of client reconciliations that are of suitable quality for sharing with external clients and the client service team
- Monitor trade working capital and maintain its level within WPP targets. Coordinate debtor chasing (including intercompany) as necessary using the credit control function at the shared service centre, Finance Plus
- Liaison with auditors during SOX and client audits. Ensure that all revenue sheets are signed and compliant for SOX on a monthly basis.
- Maintaining accurate rate card in the Dash system and responding to queries regarding rate cards
- Establish a strong knowledge in all our reporting systems including but not limited to Maconomy, Dash and Cartesis.
- Provide ad hoc general support and analysis to the Senior Finance Manager and Finance Director.

- Analytical Knowledge & Ability: Demonstrates awareness and knowledge of different data sources both qualitative and quantitative. Is comfortable working with data and demonstrates ability to analyze and present in the most effective way.
- Excellent Communication (Oral & Written): Communicates in a clear and efficient way to keep projects and processes moving forward. Communicates and influences both upwards and with the wider business (especially Client Services). A trusted partner, able to form good personal relationships and demonstrate understanding of Finance to those less skilled in finance.
- Personal Initiative / Problem Solver: Can navigate the organization to find contacts and solutions when the answer is not clear. Works to progress projects and thinks of new processes and solutions in close co-operation with the Senior Finance Manager and the Financial Director.
- Personal Judgment: Shows good understanding of the overall Finance discipline, its role in the business and financial procedures in general. Is sensitive to other’s priorities at a department, as well as on an organization level.
