The Commercial Account Manager retains and expands customer relationships in banks and financial institutions, ensuring customer success, driving revenue growth, and executing sales strategies to achieve budget goals.
The Role:
The ION Markets Sales and Account management team is a global group of experienced Sales, Account Management, pre-sales, and Sales Operations professionals who collaborate closely with all areas of the organization, in a team-selling environment.
Sales and Account managers are responsible for:
1. Retention of our customer base, building trusted relationships that drive customer success, enable upsell opportunities, and cultivate satisfied clients to develop long term collaboration
2. Expand allocated account portfolio through cross selling into existing clients or onboard new logo to the organization.
Main responsibility is to achieve the annual allocated budget and to act as a primary point of contact on all account matters for a portfolio of ION Markets customers. These will primarily be a combination of banks and financial institutions.
For each of your customers, Sales and Account managers are responsible for gaining a full knowledge of customer business drivers, budget cycle, operations and their current use of ION products to gain the maximum possible value from their investment.
In addition, Sales and Account managers should actively understand prospect client needs and identify the best solution to address the client needs.
Finally, the Sales and Account managers act as the final point of escalation and overlook the overall customer relationship with existing customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and prospects in the region
- Understanding each customer’s business drivers, budget, operations and current needs requirements.
- Developing and executing account plans and new sales campaigns/activities with a goal of achieving the annual sales target.
- Driving revenue growth through execution of ION’s go-to-market strategies, with a focus on opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling
- Generating commercial proposals and presentations
- Promoting ION value added solutions to bring further value to customers from their relationship with ION.
- Working regularly with ION customer support, professional services, commercial, legal, invoicing, and senior management teams to ensure high quality service delivery across all engagements
- Representing the company at industry conferences and events
- Understanding key industry topics and trends, to support customer discussions
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in trading with first-hand experience at either financial institutes or technology companies.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills
- Excellent personal drive, motivation and persistence to reach out to prospect/clients
- Consultative, creative, problem-solving approach
- Experience in initiating, developing and nurturing relationships
- Passion for excellence, passion for high quality materials and professionalism
- An enthusiasm for taking responsibility
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively at different stakeholder levels
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to support business objectives
Desired Experience:
- Proven track record of selling into existing and/or new customer base and high retention/success rate
- Practical experience within an account management customer facing role
- Solution selling experience to existing customer base
- Experience with trading and trade operations
