The Role

The Commerce Photo Editor will be responsible for all product-based visuals and shopping galleries for the website. Candidates should have excellent technical and editorial judgement and a strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. 

The Team 

The Commerce Photo Editor will be working closely with two departments, GLAMOUR UK Commerce team, whose sole responsibility is to create inspiring editorial content which inspires readers to make informed purchasing decisions and drives affiliate revenue for the brand. The Commerce Photo Editor will also work closely with the Visual team to ensure that editorial visual expectations are met. The Commerce team sits within the wider GLAMOUR editorial team. This position reports to the Senior Visuals Editor and is based in Central London.

What will you be doing? 

  • Managing the daily output of commerce shopping galleries

  •  Editing and resizing all product-based imagery for the website (specifically cutting-out products)

  • Managing the daily output of commerce shopping galleries

  • To assist in the research and creation of high-quality homepage content including photography, design, collages and GIFs. 

  • Work directly with editors to maintain the output and standard of digital visual content across multiple platforms.

  • Ability to help with Editorial Picture Research Content if needed.

  • Leading visual direction for Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Sleep Week etc.

  • Creating mood-boards for Photoshoots that fit with the GLAMOUR aesthetic. 

  • Monitoring Freelance cover and looking over work to make sure the images fit within the brand.

  • Budget management - monitoring buy-ins and covering our budget to make sure we don’t exceed each month.

  • Ability to contribute ideas to editorial and commerce brainstorms.

Who you are: 

  • Relevant experience working on a digital picture desk or relevant field.

  • Must be familiar with the GLAMOUR digital visual aesthetic and have a keen interest in shopping, beauty, fashion, interiors and travel. 

  • Must have strong photographic and organisational skills to ensure all content meets standards for brand integrity and production quality

  • Knowledge and experience of photographic sources, agencies and copyright law. 

  • Demonstrated experience using Adobe Photoshop and digital graphic design 

  • Highly organised, detail oriented, and have the ability to work to multiple tight deadlines. 

  • Ability to contribute to ideas to both editorial and e-commerce brainstorms 

Where will you be? 

  • We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit.
