Position Summary:
This position requires a time served CNC Setter with a proven track record and experience in
machining aluminium diecast components on high speed 5 axis machines. Reporting directly to the CNC Senior Setter and with direct support to the Production Supervisor on the shift, the CNC Tech/process Engineer is required to be able to work off their own initiative whilst also liaising with Production, Quality and Maintenance to respond to any issues that affect CNC operation.
The CNC Tech/Process Engineer is responsible for proving new programs, commissioning new fixtures and cutting tools. Monitoring part quality and dimensional reports to maintain optimum machining conditions. The CNC Tech/Process Engineer will be responsible for the training and development of the setter/operators across the shift pattern and control standards and safe working practices. Performing machining troubleshooting and TPMs are also key tasks for this role.

Role Responsibilities:
This role entails but is not limited to: -
- Support production on a daily basis.
- Competent in running CNC's and all aspects of the machine performance, fault finding and diagnostics.
- Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and machining position to casting.
- Change tools, track tool life, investigate tool breakages.
- Monitor part quality, adjust offsets and improve process capability.
- Develop and maintain process documentation as well as assist in the generation of SWI's.
- Set procedures and standards
- Drive TPM and 5S
- Train, mentor and guide others on how to operate equipment safely and correctly
- Other related duties as determined by the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers.
- Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant
Essential Experience:
- Apprentice served or formal college certification
- Proven CNC machine setting in a JIT production environment.
- 5 axis high speed machining of aluminium castings.
- Demonstrate suitable problem-solving techniques
- Programming G&M codes, preferably Siemens controllers.
- Strong understanding of tooling & fixture design principles
- Delivery of training
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within castings sector
- ABB robot operation, straightening processes. and programming
- Experience of function and purpose of straightening presses
- Use of 5S to improve production environment
Personal Attributes:
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to prioritise tasks against demand.
- Good problem-solving skills with a logical approach.
- Able to maintain focus on the wide range of challenges that arise via the generation of lists/action trackers to working from notes.
- Confidence to challenge existing working practices and raise the standard.

- Good communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proactive in approach with a "can do attitude"
- Flexibility. Willingness to attend off-site training courses as required and offset working hours to facilitate training and face to face communications when necessary.
