The Combat Mission Systems group within BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a manager to oversee the Prototype Network activities at our development centers where we work on advanced ground vehicles, amphibious vehicles and weapon systems for the US military and international customers. As a CMS Prototype Network Manager, you will directly and indirectly manage prototype planners, technicians and fabricators, engineers, and our prototype warehousing operations with a team at our various locations.

We achieve success by satisfying our clients and programs by making concepts tangible, motivating our employees, empowering strong teams, and positioning for transitions to production.
The Prototype Network Manager will:

  • Oversee and manage the Prototype sites and daily operations for CMS.
  • Serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and engineering management.
  • Prepare project execution plans and identifies technical and business resources needed to support prototyping efforts.
  • Review status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assess issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams and senior leadership.
  • Guide the onsite planning and execution capabilities for work and required fabrication and assembly equipment to accommodate business growth.
  • Maintain responsibility for Profit and Loss for department execution.
    Inform and guide the strategic direction for the prototype network.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Operations Management, or Business Management and 8 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced in working in a prototyping/product development/R&D environment
  • Project / Program Management experience
  • Risk and Issue management experience
  • Effective communicator
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Departmental budgeting experience


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master's degree in Engineering/Science plus 12 or more years of hands-on design/development program experience
  • Prior experience with military (Navy, Army or Marine Corps) small or large caliber weapon system and/or Combat vehicle design, integration and testing and related project leadership
  • LCM phase and/or design review experience
  • Pursuit and/or proposal experience
  • Working experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
