Job Description

As a Strategic Cloud Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic direction to clients in adopting and optimising cloud technologies to meet their business objectives. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, assess their current infrastructure, and develop tailored cloud strategies that drive innovation, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Strategic Cloud Consulting is a newly formed capability as part of our Cloud practice and these initial roles will have the opportunity to shape the offerings, approaches and consulting methodologies we provide to our customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to understand their business goals, technical requirements, and challenges related to cloud adoption.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of customers existing infrastructure, applications, and workloads to identify opportunities for migration, optimisation, and transformation.
  • Develop comprehensive cloud strategies aligned with customer business objectives, considering factors such as scalability, security, compliance, and cost optimisation.
  • Design scalable and resilient cloud architectures tailored to customer specific needs, leveraging best practices and cloud-native technologies.
  • Define migration roadmaps and strategies for transitioning applications and workloads to the cloud, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimisation within customer cloud environments through rightsizing, instance reservations, and other optimisation techniques.
  •  Advise customers on best practices for ensuring the security, compliance, and governance of their cloud environments, including data protection and access controls.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to customer teams throughout the cloud adoption lifecycle, including implementation, testing, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for customer teams to build their capabilities in cloud technologies and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud service providers and technologies that best align with customer needs and objectives.


Skills / Experience:

  • Experience leading conversations with customers at a high and low level
  • Demonstrated experience as a team or project leader in a complex Cloud environment
  • Experience and strong understanding in Azure, AWS, GCP and Private Cloud 
  • Expert understanding cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, as well as cloud-native services such as containers, serverless computing, and microservices architecture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Including a strong ability to create positive and professional business relationships with partners and customer stakeholders

Qualifications

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable
