We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure SaaS solutions to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-effective software solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge SaaS products that meet business needs while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance.

This role is UK based, primarily remote working with some travel required to our London Office.

What you will do:

Solution Architecture:

  • Work closely with the DevOps and Architecture teams to design and implement cloud-native SaaS strategy for Azure services and frameworks, in line with the business and client roadmaps.
  • Develop end-to-end architectural blueprints, including compute, storage, networking, and application layers.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, technical requirements, and industry best practices.

Azure Expertise:

  • Leverage Azure PaaS services such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure SQL Database.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
  • Implement security measures, including Azure Key Vault, Managed Identity, and role-based access controls.

Scalability and Optimisation:

  • Architect solutions that scale efficiently and optimise costs using Azure Autoscale and Reserved Instances.
  • Ensure system resilience through high-availability configurations and disaster recovery strategies.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with product owners, architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Guide teams in adopting cloud-first and microservices architectures.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior architects and engineers.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure designs meet industry standards for compliance, including GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001, as required.
  • Optimisation of monitoring and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Elastic Cloud.
  • Establish governance policies for Azure subscriptions and resources.
  • Adhere to INSTANDA’s information security policies, guidelines, and best practices to protect our company and our clients.
  • Contribute to a culture of security awareness within the company.
Requirements

Essential:

  • 5+ years in cloud architecture or cloud engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Proven experience in designing SaaS solutions, including multi-tenant architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure PaaS and IaaS services.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or ARM templates).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VNets, load balancers, VPNs) in Azure.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (preferred).
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) for hybrid or multi-cloud solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable:

  • Other relevant Azure or SaaS-related certifications are a plus.
