Purpose of the Role

This position is a core function within the Man Group Systematic team as a Client Portfolio Manager. Man Group’s Systematic Client Portfolio Management Team provide specialist knowledge of Man Group’s Systematic strategies, drive product innovation and engage closely with Man Group’s clients.  The successful applicant is likely to have a passion for markets, quantitative strategies, and a desire to communicate and innovate.

In this role, the individual is expected to work collaboratively with both external clients and internal business partners across Research, Risk, Man Group's global sales force, marketing, legal & compliance teams, middle office and others.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Articulate complex systematic concepts in an engaging manner.
  • Assume overall responsibility for innovative projects including: planning, organizing timeline and project deliverables.
  • Represent Systematics’ investment strategies with investors.
  • Quantitative & Qualitative analysis to answer technical questions posed by both clients and internal parties.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders including research, marketing and sales.
  • Analyze proposal requirements with sales and other appropriate stakeholders, and review provided documentation to identify prospect/client key objectives

Key Competencies

  • Strong academic record with substantial mathematical, statistical, or computing components preferred (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics etc).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in systematic investment strategies is preferred. However, we encourage applications from individuals with a range of experience levels, as roles can be tailored to match candidate skills and expertise.
  • Background in quantitative techniques and investment strategies preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer programming (e.g., Python, Matlab, R) is desirable, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and develop their coding skills further.
  • Strong reasoning ability to understand and explain quantitative investment strategies.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the capacity to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, minimally supervised environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce quality work under tight time constraints.
