We partner with listed companies, advisors, and institutional shareholders to achieve successful outcomes in critical areas like proxy contests, M&A, ESG strategies, and annual general meetings.

We are actively seeking a Client Manager to join our dynamic Client Management team. This client-facing position offers a vital opportunity to support senior team members on key client accounts and projects. You'll collaborate closely with Account Managers, Senior Account Managers, and our Centres of Excellence, directly contributing to Georgeson's esteemed reputation for exceptional service and results. This is an exciting opportunity within a time-sensitive and often regulated environment, where your clear communication, meticulous attention to detail, and consultative mindset will be highly valued. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery and ensuring the quality of client engagements, taking on crucial responsibilities in project coordination and reporting.

A role you will love

As a Client Manager, you'll be at the heart of our client relationships, taking ownership of project delivery from planning through to reporting. You'll be allocated a suite of key FTSE350 accounts, managing the day-to-day work and spearheading crucial M&A and Shareholder Activism projects.

This isn't just about delivery; it's about growth. You'll retain a book of regular clients, focusing on expanding the services they receive. By instilling a consultative and proactive approach, you'll contribute directly to increasing team revenues and achieving our annual financial targets. Here's what you'll be doing day-to-day:

  • Own the Client Journey: Manage all aspects of assigned client projects and accounts, ensuring exceptional service and delivery.

  • Strategic Project Management: Take the lead on complex M&A and Shareholder Activism projects for FTSE350 clients.

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Actively work to expand the services received by existing clients to increase team revenues.

  • Client Communication & Negotiation: Attend and present at both internal and external client meetings, building sustainable relationships.

  • Operational Excellence: Streamline project methods to ensure effective, efficient, and cost-effective completion.

  • Proactive Consulting: Instil a consultative and proactive approach with every client interaction.

  • Team Collaboration: Assist senior account managers and the Head of Market in their work and contribute to overall team success.

What will you bring to the role?

You'll be a seasoned professional ready to make an immediate impact. Success in this role demands a deep technical foundation and experience within the proxy solicitation industry. You'll operate with a keen focus on detail and sound judgment, managing a full quota of client enquiries with precision and high-quality standards. Beyond technical expertise, your ability to mentor and collaborate will be key to supporting our team's collective growth and achieving departmental goals.

  • Proxy Solicitation Expertise: good foundational experience in the proxy solicitation industry with a comprehensive understanding of both operational shareholder voting and corporate governance policy.

  • Advanced Policy Knowledge: Minimum expectation of advanced knowledge regarding Proxy Advisor policies (ISS and Glass Lewis).

  • M&A and Activism Insight: A detailed understanding of UK M&A and Shareholder Activism, with the capability to absorb additional on-the-job training.

  • Leadership and Mentoring: A commitment to support, train, and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge effectively.

  • Judgment and Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to exercise sound judgment to resolve problems, guided by policy and technical experience.

  • Advanced Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle queries ranging from basic to medium complexity with tact and diplomacy.

  • Team and Market Awareness: A strong understanding of how the wider team collaborates and knowledge of external competitor products/services to support continuous improvement.
