Client Executive - Growth

Job Description

So, who are we?

IG is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.3m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof.

We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next. Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

What’s the role?

Reporting into our Team Lead for Growth, you'll manage a portfolio of high-value, sophisticated trading clients while mentoring junior team members and shaping our evolving sales approach. This is strategic relationship management combined with complex, consultative selling to professional traders and institutional-grade retail clients.

You’ll own and grow IG's most valuable client relationships, drive significant wallet share across our multi-product suite (CFDs, spread betting, crypto, options, investments), and earn substantial performance-based compensation. You'll also contribute to team development and help refine our Premium Client Management strategy as we scale.

What will you do?

Portfolio Leadership

  • Manage and grow a concentrated book of high-net-worth and high-volume trading clients
  • Identify and convert high-value prospects through referral networks and strategic prospecting
  • Consistently exceed revenue and retention benchmarks through strategic account planning
  • Maximise wallet share by deepening product adoption and increasing assets under management

Complex Sales Excellence

  • Navigate sophisticated client needs across multiple asset classes and trading strategies
  • Structure bespoke solutions that align commercial outcomes with client objectives
  • Win competitive situations by demonstrating deep product knowledge and market insight

Outstanding Client Care

  • Develop tailored growth strategies for each key relationship, identifying cross-sell opportunities and expansion potential
  • Proactively engage, combining market commentary, product education, and relationship nurturing
  • Structure competitive pricing, rebate agreements, and service packages that balance client value with commercial outcomes
  • Maintain client trust and retention during market volatility, platform issues, or competitive threats
  • Build credibility with senior decision-makers and high-net-worth individuals who demand expertise

Team & Strategic Impact

  • Mentor junior client managers through complex sales cycles and challenging client situations
  • Lead internal training sessions on complex product structures, client strategies, and market dynamics
  • Contribute to the evolution of the UK’s Premium Client Management strategy development and implementation
  • Collaborate with Product, Dealing, and UK Senior Leadership Team on strategic initiatives

What will you need for this role?

To succeed in this role, we think you’ll need:

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years in financial services sales, premium client management, or institutional client acquisition
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets in competitive, high-stakes environments
  • Deep understanding of trading products, market dynamics, and professional client needs
  • Experience managing high-net-worth or institutional client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to win competitive situations and retain valuable clients
  • Advanced CRM usage for pipeline forecasting and performance tracking
  • Comfortable with multiple communication platforms and sales automation tools
  • Experience mentoring or developing junior team members
  • Familiarity with FCA-regulated trading environments
  • Relevant degree or professional qualifications (CFA, IMC, or equivalent)

Market & Product Expertise

  • Comprehensive understanding of CFDs, spread betting, options, and investment products
  • Ability to discuss trading strategies, position management, and hedging techniques
  • Stay current on regulatory changes, market structure, and industry trends
  • Leverage data analytics to inform account strategies and identify patterns
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable guidance

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communication skills with ability to handle high-stakes negotiations while preserving long-term relationships
  • Advanced consultative selling: you can structure complex solutions across multiple products and trading strategies
  • Deep commercial understanding: you can connect client trading behaviour to revenue drivers (volume, margin, financing costs)
  • Analytical mindset, able to analyse client profitability and prioritise engagement accordingly; and structure rebate agreements and pricing that optimise lifetime value
  • Relationship mastery: you can maintain composure and credibility during extreme market volatility and keep calm while navigating difficult conversations (margin calls, platform issues, competitive threats)
  • Credible influence: you can coach less experienced team members and contribute strategic thinking to senior leadership discussions
