How you will create an impact 

  • You will work closely with the UK Head of Financial Lines to deliver corporate goals whilst promoting AIG’s core values.
  • You will be required to apply technical knowledge to perform analysis of claims portfolios to identify claims trends and opportunities to improve total cost of claim and customer outcomes.
  • Support claims allocation and the continuous end-to-end review of claims handling processes, governance, and controls.
  • Work closely with peer group to support the execution and timely delivery of strategic initiatives and reporting.
  • Utilise claims data to provide insights to claims leadership and underwriting colleagues.
  • Work with FL teams to ensure claims marketing materials and insights are kept current.
  • You will monitor and report on the performance/impact of new schemes and facilities.
  • Work with peers to ensure the timely and accurate submission of International Claims Weekly report and follow on reporting (PA/MLR/GCT).
  • Closely liaise and work with the profit centre to review claims issues and underwriting initiatives.
  • Contact point for any customer complaints relating to the team and ensuring these are handled efficiently by focusing on the principle of treating customers fairly. 
  • Continually develop and update knowledge/understanding of Regulatory requirements and their impact on claims adjusting.
  • Be a capable planner who can demonstrate sound judgement and innovation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Advanced knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for UK Claims Financial Lines.  
  • Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims.  
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.  
  • A track record of following up effectively on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvement. 
  • The ability to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy. 
  • The ability to assist with technical training to the team’s claim handlers as required.
